Nah, this one won't be run. But if I wanted to run it, I would have bought all of the "race" parts for it. These are all the "replica" pieces.

I'm not sure on the US durability end. The parts definitely feel fragile. But I'm sure the process/materials will get better over time and the parts will become stronger.

I'm not sure if you remember, but when Rod and I built our runners, we went through so many parts it wasn't funny. He retired his before I did. I went on to get some parts from Niki and they did better, but it's not something I wanted to keep fixing. My Kinwald queen is hopefully going to be completed...someday and now even my aluminum chassis with upgraded "racing" parts has been retired.

So, I started cutting up the motor plate. Going all nice and slow...... being all careful and stuff.....

And once the cut off disc broke through, it felt the need to whip underneath and screw everything up.

So I guess that will be going out for ano one day.

The Whisk Rust Remover I got to remove the blue from FT turnbuckles does a decent job removing ano too. The only thing I touched this with was a plastic covered scrubbing sponge with some soap on it to remove the smut.

And put together.

Beautiful! Did you tea stain the Shapeways parts? They appear to match the AE nylon perfectly.

I've done the tea thing on another build and I was not happy with the results. Did what I could with yellow RIT powder dye to try my best to fix it.

This stuff I did with straight RIT golden yellow powder. 1/8 tsp of powder to 3 1/2 quarts of water on med-high (almost boiling). Drop the parts for 3-4 seconds, take out and rinse with cold water. Some pieces will suck it up quicker than others so you kinda have to play with it.

Fantastic to see a stealth build thread! The stealth car was the best build ever in my book.
Looks like you really nailed the color when dyeing your parts scr8p. Looks fantastic!
Any plans on milling the chassis standoff spacers?

You can see them in these pics. They kinda look like a 10t front body mount, and would actually be close to the height I need. I can give you some better dimensions though. Thanks. Vintage AE would probably like a set too.

That would be an understatement. I would love a set!!!

Those standoff and the battery strap are the only parts I need. Electronic wise, I only need the motor... if Rod would ever get the servo back to me. He said he would help me with soldering on a replacement lead months ago. I think I'm just going to go pay him a visit soon lol.

Some other goodies for the build. The receiver is NIB, but it's 75 band. Kinwald probably used 27. I had one of each, but the 27 went in my Brad Reelfs replica. I have a near new 1400 scr stick pack I have to break down and reassemble side by side (forgot to put it in the pic). The motor is used but near perfect. The esc is super nice too, and i may not have to rewire it (fingers crossed). One thing I don't have is a servo. Not exactly sure which one he used...... probably a 94737 or 94151.

I just checked my photos and my build thread and I have no record of the one I have. I'll have to ask Rod since he has it...and it came from him. I think he said it was the same one he used in his Cliff Lett replica. I'll shot him a PM.
