ouch, now you did it.
this spells trouble for you: calling ae idiotic.

Seriously though, I find it stupid having to say weither your words are scientific fact, common believe or your own opinion, recollection distorted or not. If you write it down it's there for discusion and everyone's free to respond with his view or whatever.
Lighten up guys, it's a forum , not a 1-way website. Someone writes something you think is wrong; consider it an ooportunity to provve your own genious ;)

LOL! I didn't mean AE was idiotic, I meant RCCA. How in the world could anyone think that shallow cuts in the bottom of the tub were for dirt to escape? If anything it would allow more dirt to be trapped. They HAD to have meant the vertical sides of the tub were milled for dirt which makes more sense, but still doesn't make me a believer that that was done for dirt to escape and not for a weight savings. Dirt collecting in the tub wasn't very common (on my car at least) as long as you didn't have your windows cut out.

to quote the worlds car box:

"Our classic alloy tub is now deep drawn from a stronger and stiffer grade of aircraft aluminum, then machined and profiled to team specs. Like its predecessors, this chassis is close to industructable and has excellent dampening and rigidity characteristics."

there is another quote on the other side i could write down, but it simply says its a virtual replica driven by kinwald at the 93-4 worlds with the same specially milled, special alloy chassis. there is no mention at all to the anodizing when talking about the stronger chassis, or letting dirt escape.

again, i would speculate that the machining was done to make a stiffer and heavier than previously made chassis' around the same weight as the earlier versions.

and it looked trick.

So why hasn't the legendary blue anodized chassis been weighed? It's a conspiracy I tells ya!

I don't know if you actually meant to put the irony inthere, but I liked how you added: 'just an opinion'

Hoopt, don't believe everything written on a box
Marketing people are not exactly known to allways tell the full truth and straight facts :P
Actually they are probably the ones that provide RCCA with a lot of input too

PS; no pun intended to websteve or RCCA

sorry, I guess sarcasm doesn't come across on the internet. I wasn't directing anything at anyone, just saying that this thread got some people a little heated pretty quickly. Remember this is the internet, everyone gets their say and nobody "wins"

Sarcasm is generally lost without a healthy dose of smilies.

But then who'd a thought there'd ever be a dumb thread.
