This car was born to run so more donuts are in it's future.

Re: RC12i Restore
Thanks! Yes the can was sanded down with 800 grit and then 1000 fine grit and polished with Mother's chrome polish. The label had no damage luckily so I didn't have to do anything to it. It took me a long while to find one with a good label!WC1982 wrote:Looks great.
I assume you sanded down and polished the can but what did you do about the label? Did you have a new one?

Re: RC12i Restore
It's been an extremely busy week at work so I didn't get much done on it. I've got the basic paint job down though so it won't be too much longer. Should have some update photos soon.

All I got to say is WOWZAA!
You are going to have to share how you rebuild the motor with out ruining the decals and the carburetor stacks are a nice touch!

The wheels that associated did for that one look like 60's era mags...A muscle car body would look great on one of those...Nice touch with the velocity stacks...

Thanks man! I just masked off the motor label with Tamiya tape before I started. I actually did a little chrome polishing on the label itself afterward. Those old foil labels are tough as long as you don't go overboard with polishing on them.SFC K wrote:All I got to say is WOWZAA!![]()

My dad had a Chevy Good Times van with those hurricane wheels.REMJ666 wrote:The wheels that associated did for that one look like 60's era mags...A muscle car body would look great on one of those...Nice touch with the velocity stacks...

I have another RC12E resto project that will have the Greenwood Corvette body and I just might go with those wheels.
