Mine's not a gift, it's a prosthetic  The Edinger is a huge loss (but in a odd way, looks like a desert buggy that took a tumble in a race) what about the one that was still sealed up?

Hopefully you can get a good reliable contractor. I found the hardest part was keeping them at my house. They'd work for a couple days and then go to another job for a few days. I understand they are busy, but it was a little ridiculous. You have to really stay on them to keep them at your place. I'd have them checking in with you every other day to give you a progress report. In the 3.5 months I was out of my house it was basically 2 solid weeks of work that was done...

So sorry for your loss, but glad that everyone is ok. You seem to be talking it much better than I would. I have several of those cheap rtf chargers, they're going in the trash!

My condolences for your loss, but at least you're okay. But, looking at the pictures...OUCH.

On the other hand it seems it could have been much worse. There's the completely toasted ceiling and melted stuff  , and then the intact bottles of aceton and motor spray on the right side of your workbench  It's a bit jarring.
That they didn't explode from the heat of the fire might however mean good things for the water-drenched kits near them.

Just a thought,
If that Edinger's plastic is structurally sound, but the smoke staining won't come out and the car can't be restored to shelf status, maybe it could be a Classic class runner.

Rod,

I would keep one of the burned RC10's (ex. Box Art RC10) just as it is and not try to restore it. Down the road when this situation is a distant bad memory, it will be a very important part of the collection and something you can show others. The fire looks very serious - You showed allot of guts going back in when you couldn't see or breath. It's fortunate you were able to rescue the dogs and get help from the fire department to stop it before it took everything. - Well done!

I like Limestang's idea about keeping some things as is, but the edinger looks salvageable. I would choose something totally wrecked to leave as is.

Rod, I got your PM. All I can say is WOW!

I am so glad to hear that you were the only one home and got the dogs out. First and foremost all involved are safe and sound.

I have not checked the board in a few days and I am speechless. I read the thread and I had no idea.

As everyone else has stated, I to feel the same way. If you need anything, give me a call or PM or whatever it takes.

Can a few of us guys here in Calgary get you a night out to relieve some stress? Just a thought.

If I can help with things for the house, you know where I work.

Anything else, do not hesitate to ask bud.

Sorry was away for a few days so I just checked the board. So so sorry Rod about what you're going through. And even worse that it was a lipo fire and affected your home and hobby so dramatically.

Just seen this. So sorry Rod.

Like everyone says those pics hurt.

Glad you and the family are safe and well though.
