Re: explain your screen name
The coelacanth is a fish that first made it's appearance 400 million years ago, and can still be found today. They arrived long before the dinosaurs and may be around long after our brief stay. Evidence of human paleontology only goes back about 100,000 years, and our current species only 10,000 years, for comparison's sake. Something about that always struck me as cool; "flipping the bird at 400 million years of evolution", as it were.
I use the same username on most forums, I don't like having a dozen different usernames, one for each place I login.
I'm also a Pisces and have a degree in Zoology, not that it did me any good for my career...I only had 2 weeks of paid employment in 8 months of work in that field before moving on to computers.

One of the specimens found off of South Africa has been preserved and is on display at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles. My kids are always facinated by the strange (by goldfish standards) fin pattern.Coelacanth wrote:The coelacanth is a fish that first made it's appearance 400 million years ago, and can still be found today.

I am glad that I knew the name reference in advance, although I thought that it could be a coincidence as well and never asked-Coelacanth wrote:The coelacanth is a fish that first made it's appearance 400 million years ago, and can still be found today. I only knew that because of the car commercial a few years back with the full size spare. And they say tv isn't educational.Coelacanth wrote:The coelacanth is a fish that first made it's appearance 400 million years ago, and can still be found today. Re: explain your screen name
Back in the day I was in search of a cool sounding but was coming up blank until I remembered a band I listened to back in the 80's; Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction. Originally I was using Zodiac Mindwarp but found it rather long so I shortened it to Mindwarp. I've had it for so long and on so many forums that it now has nothing to do with the band, it's just my call-sign online

Re: explain your screen name
Hey, I just noticed your avatar and did a double-take. Another Turbo Buick forum member, that's cool! Those '87 Turbo T's were indeed rare. My '86 GN is a bit less rare, only 5512 were made in '86. Buick upped GN production four-fold in '87. Probably the rarest and oddest GN car of those 2 years would be the LeSabre GN, only 112 produced.1of1547 wrote:It's after my other play toy, a 1987 Buick Regal Turbo T WE4. It was the lightweight "racing" version of the Grand National. The production run was only 1547 and I own 1 of them.

Mines rather boring. Pronounced 'tee san'. The 't' is for Tim, the 'san' is the first syllable of my last name, Sanderson.
