- Box Art RC10 -
It was about time I started a new thread for this project for which I've been collecting stuff for years now. The least I can say is that it's quite a long quest to find early RC10 parts as very few early kits were released (and I would still like to know the approximate number of "early Edinger" kits ever released...), not even mentioning the time I spent hunting for the very first Novak ESC that is installed in the Box Art car.
So, my plan is to build up an exact replica of the buggy appearing on the first RC10 box and replicate every single detail. Last year I grabbed a new built Edinger buggy that is really too nice to be used for that purpose and even though it is an early kit, it did not came with the fiberglass battery straps, rear recessed shock cups and only rear Goodyear tires.
I recently purchased 2 used early Edinger rolling chassis, first one came with the first Novak ESC, rear Goodyear tires in good shape and recessed shock cups, but was missing the fiberglass battery straps and the front Goodyear tires (those seem even rarer than the rear ones). Here are some pictures of it:
The second rolling chassis came with every single detail that makes a true early kit, except the fact that in this one, only the front tires have the Goodyear logo, go figure... here it is:
And on top of it, I bought this lot from the same seller as the last chassis:

Re: - Box Art RC10 -
I now have to tear both chassies down, clean everything, gather the best parts and screw everything on a brand new lightly anodised chassis I've kept aside for a very long time waiting for this very project to come to life.
I would now need help to source the missing bits and bobs, that is:
- the thin black ball cups
- a pair of diamond shaped wing mounts
- rear sway bar hardware
- driver figure
- and last but not least all the correct decals (I know Jay is working on them, so that is almost solved)
If anyone has an idea of where to source this hardware, please let me know!

i'll keep an eye out for those old style dubro heim ends. tower should have all of the correct ball cups and ball studs that you'll need.

Re: - Box Art RC10 -
Is the sway bar hardware the same as the front? If so I might be able to donate to this awsome cause. I'll see if I can dig it up.

Re: - Box Art RC10 -
I have been looking on Tower's site and I couldn't come up with the exact same heavy duty black rod ends as the one shown below. Can anyone help me finding these?
I would also like some info about the "box art" receiver, has anyone evre identified it? Anyway, whatever it is, I'm looking for it (HINT HINT)

Re: - Box Art RC10 -
hey david, i found some heim ends for your steering in a bag in my basement. 4-40 tierod, 2-56 holes to mount them. they're shaped a little different though. they are used, but they're in real nice shape. i'm pretty sure you'd rather have new ones, but these would hold you over until some would come along. if you want them, let me know.
Re: - Box Art RC10 -
they look really close to the ends i use on one of my airplanes. you might look there . just a thought .
just race it
