2nd RC10 - Update 6/6/10 almost there!

Post by Bimdapogs »

Hi guys,
I'm thinking of picking this one up, will be my 2nd RC10 and I thought it's a good candidate for a runner since I don't want my gold tub getting all scratched up. I do need help IDing the front end (bulkhead and arms) as they seem different. Any help is much appreciated! :D

It looks like an RC10T front end.

sure does look like the RPM worlds front arms, RPM Worlds front shock tower, 10T nose plate and bulkhead. If I remember right, those front arms are hard to come by. looks like a good grab to me...

Got it in the mail yesterday, it looks better than expected! The rear wheels are a bit unusual, not obvious in the first pic but it actually has clear caps on the outside. Does anybody know who makes these??

I'll post pics later, maybe I'll make this a WIP thread to add motivation and speed things up.

Agreed, even for the non-RPM parts it's a good deal. I've purchased three 10Ts, and most of a T3, for $40-50 each, just for the gearboxes, shocks, and some of the out-of-production parts (nose plate and motor plate mostly).

Update! I've been wanting to get this buggy together and finally found some time to work on it. A set of turnbuckles + new front wheel bearings and I'll be able to run this. Looking at these pics, I'm happy with how she looks now.

Lookin' good! Find a set of 1.02" stroke 10t/t2/gt front shocks to throw on that front end. That's what that front end conversion was designed to use and they'll reach the proper mounting holes on that tower.

the worlds tower is designed to use the .71 shocks, too. so there's nothing wrong with using them.

I always wondered what front end this was, it doesn't have an AE logo on the nose plate. It came on this Team Car I picked up to rebuild/restore? Now I know.
