Brushless for a Kyosho Slingshot
Brushless for a Kyosho Slingshot
I picked up a Slingshot online for a song, it is in pretty good shape. I'm considering a brushless system for it. I'm old school so I know nothing about current brushless systems, which would be the way to go?

Re: Brushless for a Kyosho Slingshot
wellcome to the forum.
Original choice of car, you'll get attetntion with that. And if you're willing to experiment you could switch to lazer suspension too. Maybe one one side the shorter arms of the original and on the other the longer lazer arms!
I don't know much about oval racing but I'd say you got something that can keep you entertained for awhile.
As far as moter choice goes: maybe go by some local tracks first and see what they run in stock class: 13.5 or 17.5 most likely.
The slingshot has no slipper* so you need to be carefull: spare parts are going to be hard to find for some areas of the car. I'd stay out of mod class with this one.
*I'm not sure if any oval car has a slipper???

Re: Brushless for a Kyosho Slingshot
I received my slingshot, it is in great shape. I think I may go away from the brushless and run with a modified brushed motor. Since I'm going to run foams on the dirt, that would provide the slip I need. I'll top it off with a Custom Works Open comp camaro or rocket wedge.
