Has anyone tried a mod to this vehicle to get modern rubber on it?
Those that know, did the 91 or 93 use the square hex hub? I think the 93 had already changed, but what about the 91?
Assuming there ever was 2.2 wheels with the square hex.. is there any source? outside of ebay?
2nd.
What about retro-fitting newer Yokomo axles to the 870c universals?
I have a MR4-BC and the front axles are bang on the the axles of the 870c length.. if I switch the bearings from a 5 x 10 fl. to a 6 x 10 fl and use 4 BC axles I think I could mount the BC hubs and rims and WHALA rubber?
Anyone tried this?
Thanks
James

The 91, 93, and 95 yz-10 rims are the wrong offset. Yokomo did make 2.2 square hub rims for the 870c, like the ones Masami used on the back of his 89 world's rc10. Check it out in the scan archive. Also, didou was selling some 2.2 870c square hub rims awhile ago (front and back), but mrlexan and myself cleaned him out already.
btw, FERRETTI might be of some help here

Experience is that marvelous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.

There was 870C not long ago on this site which had front knuckles of a kyosho optima mid but original yok hubs.
So, if the yok axles fit Kyosho knunckles, than I suppose kyosho axles would fit Yok knuckles also...
So you could probably use Kyosho's or even Tamiya's standard axles with 12 mm hexes to mount 2.2 Tamiya or Kyosho wheels.
Minicooperguy was the poster I think: and he had orignial knuckles too: maybe he can tell you more.
(Let me know if you need the Kyosho axles dimensions)
