Modern Rubber 870c/yz10
searched and didn't find what I was looking for.
Rehabbing a old yz10 with a Lipo setup to take to a new off road track that opened nearby.
need a soft compound tire like the 'b squared' that fit the stock yoke wheels or I need a source and part numbers for wheels that fit the yz10 and accept modern size rubber to take this build to the next step.
Any help in greatly appreciated!

Re: Modern Rubber 870c/yz10
So am I asking for something that doesn't exist? Is there a mod to make a b4 type wheel fit a yz10?

I'm not a Yokomo expert but I *think* those wheels should be 2.2" like all current tires. If not, later Yokomo wheels should bolt up and those will be 2.2". I'm sure someone will chime in about wheel/hub offsets and the details that I am unaware of.

If you need new wheels
http://www.jcracingproducts.co.uk/products/
Look at products ->wheels.
Their wheels are 2.2. I use them with Schuey minispikes...so they should be ok for modern rubber.
I am not aware of any wheel adaptors for yz10. There were some for Kyosho to run YZ10 wheels though!!

That's correct. The fronts are close enough to be good. The rears need another 7mm *I think* per wheel. It's been awhile.
If you can find the original yokomo 2.2 wheels they are a good option, though hard to find and pricey due to rarity. otherwise, you need to convert the swing axles to kyosho and use pin and nut wheels. For that, i can't recall which wheels are good. There are quite a few threads with bits and pieces in the forum, so some searching would help out there. I think Mr. Ed has some good info here, and someone else also, but I can't recall at the moment. You could also search on my username, I have contributed in a lot or threads related to this.

I did the hex drive conversion to one of my 870C's and it would be easier to get a set of 2.2 wheels for the original Yokomo square drives. If you have BST access, I'm sure there are a few folks that have wheels laying around...But they may cost.

So what exactly does this mean? Will they fit but the car will not track straight? Or do try not fit at all?Alex B wrote:The JC wheels are the wrong offset for the 870c yokomos.
Can this be overcome with a modification?
Thanks....

Thanks.....looks like I am on the hunt for some Kyosho bits to make this happen.

bear in mind, the kyosho universals are apparently minted in gold, at least that is what they charge. so it will be a little pricey.

In laymans terms it will narrow the rear track and cause the inside of the wheel to rub on the rear upright.OldSkoolRC wrote:So what exactly does this mean? To overcome it you need to to have custom made hubs, or run latter works arms, uprights and shafts.

Re: Modern Rubber 870c/yz10
Sorry the pics aren't very clear but I am running 91 model arms and hubs on this 870c. This allows the commonly found 2.2" wheels to fit this car.
The offset was always going to be a problem when using the kit standard items. This mod has worked really well for me.
