Reverse rotation on brushless?

Hey guys. Can i reverse rotation on a brushless motor or do i have to flip the diff on my Clod.I'm running dual ezrun 9T.

Just switch any 2 of the wires until you get reverse rotation. No harm to the motor, competition...maybe.

I don't think that is correct- the 3 wires that run off the ESC are the supply wires to the stator poles- the smaller sensor wire relays the rotor position to the ESC to control the pulses of current to each stator via the Hall Effect Sensors, and the rotor can get "hung" between the stator positions and get nothing but a magnetic lock- or a big puff of stinky smoke-

If you are running a Castle system or another sensorless system then it will work- Tekin systems can be changed via the hotwire setup I believe-

Well now you got me thinkin. I got 3 matchin answers saying I can switch any two wires and despite sounding questionable it sounded like I had the answer. So what do I do?

If it's a sensorless system you have then you can swap any two wires to get reverse. If it's a sensored system them you've got to keep them in the correct order (ABC) Some sensored esc's can have the rotation changed with PC software like has been said above, but not all.

If it's sensored it will have the 3 large wires + an extra wire that looks similar to a servo wire with a plug that goes to the motor. If it just has 3 wires it's sensorless and switching the wires will bring no harm.

Just as an fyi, sensorless escs can run sensored motors. That info will only come in handy if you're entering a race that requires a 17.5 sensored motor or something like that. You just have to buy the motor rather than the whole set up since you already have the esc.

A quick pic of your esc and motor would help if you want to be 100% certain. I definitely don't want to give any bad info that will cost people money.

It's sensorless then and you can switch the wires without harm. I think there is confusion because EZ RUN uses turn references rather than kv ratings like most sensorless set ups. I think they do it because it's more relate-able to most r/c enthusiasts even though kv ratings are a lot more accurate in my opinion.

These kits are awsome.I have converted all my rc's to ezrun and lipo and will never go back. Power and run time is WOW!! Used to be a challange to lift the front end on my buggys,now I can cat-walk my slashes.
