center gear Stripping.

Post by slow_jun »

So this was the second time that i encountered this on my RPM tranny.

Just want to know if anyone else is having this issue on your RPM tranny.

when this happen the slipper was not that tight ( i think).

I know that a GT center gear will fit, i have yet to buy some spares. but was just intrigue how did happen,
my suspect was the top shaft was causing the stripping ( mesh was a bit far) , is this normal as the gear is small, so after coming from a big jump it will slip and strip the center gear. but for this to happen my slipper should have aided the sudden RPM coming from a Jump.

the RPM trans changes to a smaller top gear, and probably has a slightly mismatched gear profile, as well as more mechanical leverage due to that ratio change(more 'abrupt' gear tooth mesh because of the tooth profile), which means the gear is easier to strip. Best bet is to probably run the slipper a little looser.
