I bought a 90's Holeshot Racing R/C scale from ebay a few years ago, and finally decided to get it out to weigh my scaler.
But I have no idea how to set this thing up. I can zero each corner, but then the weight fluctuates constantly if the switches aren't a certain way. And the weight never seems correct.
Does anyone have instructions or experience using one of these? I need help!
any of you old school dudes remember these? gimmick or not, it was just too rare to pass on so it became one of those items i was definitely going to win nomatter what.
just looking at the parts its not easy to see how it mounts to the chassis. did...

I just found a new one. Not sure what I will do with it, but at least it will be added to my treasure chest.
Introduction
Prior to the holiday season, I rebuilt an RC10GT that had been sitting in the garage since about 1998. Throughout that project, I stockpiled numerous items from eBay and a handful of online hobby shops that still had stock on hand. 3...

One final thought that perhaps others might have an opinion on... I ended up replacing a few nylon parts on my nitro GT with aluminum simply so I could use loctite to avoid loosening issues. This was most prevalent on the rear a-arm mounts. Will an...
Starting with a low mileage put away wet black parts GT and a very clean Holeshot chassis, thanks Phin. Not going to get too crazy. Just going to put some hop-ups I already have into the build as I clean and freshen up the parts as they get swapped...

Shaved the rear tower so the body could sit down just a hair in the rear. Had to lean the top of the front shocks in. But it fits well enough for a shelf queen. I know I’m not supposed to like the modern stuff. But I do like the low slung stealth...
I posted a picture of this chassis in the identification thread a couple weeks ago. It was identified as (most likely) a C&J Racing chassis that was mostly stripped of its purple anodizing. However, after taking a closer look, this looks more like a...

just another question for you is do you realize that the seller is a member here?
Hugger19 was the seller and also a member here. I was actually messing with him about the truck around Christmas time while it was on ebay since I hadn't seen him...
Wanted to start an info thread on the Holeshot and Stinger buggies. This has been described as a more affordable OEM clone of the Genova buggy from Gforce. Please share any of your insights, advice or review or pics yours RC. I will have to wait a...

If you have the Holeshot how has the experience been so far with this truck? Holding up well and any modifications you recommend? Will be able to finally take it out of storage to take it for a run.
Been doing a lot of searching up and down the net for 12th scale bodies for my 12e rebuild and coming up with very few choices but one thing I noticed was modern bodies (GTP in particular) appear to be very low slung bodies to fit the modern pan...

That sounds like a lot of work for one interested person :| pity there is not more interest in this shape.
Are 1/8 scale shock too big for a 1/10 scale buggy?
Has anyone done this? Or has a 1/8 shocks to test on a RC10 or other?
Let me know what you know.
Thanks you.

Well, my thought are more along the lines of putting 1/8 scale buggy shock on something like an RC10Truck. Some of these 1/8 shock are more or less the same length as rear 1/10 and If I make a solid aluminum chassis for a truck it might get heavy...
Dangerous thing, but I got to thinking today while browsing eBay. Has anyone tried fitting current 10th scale big bore springs to older 8th scale shocks...? I know most were a 13mm inner bore but I wonder if the spring diameters would be close...
