In need of plastic parts

Post by Dave145 »

Where can i find a (new) 6 gear transmission case, (new) 6360 rear suspension mounts, and a (new) rear bulkhead for an rc10 goldpan? Those parts on my car have stripped screw holes and they keep coming loose. I only have a small budget of about $20 or less.

My suggestion would be to use a bit of thread lock on the screws and / or use a flat locking nut to hold the screws in as well. Its cheaper than trying to find those parts as they are only available (as far as I know) through sources like ebay.

that's a tall order for new obsolete parts.

your best bet will be to pick up a roller or parts car on ebay with the parts you need. will be cheaper than trying to buy those things individually, plus you will get other spares if you find a good deal.

you can also try sticking a drop of superglue in the holes before installing the screws. It would be better to use steel screws so you can unscrew them later without stripping the heads, if you can get some.

either a hobby shop, or an online store.

if you have a sears hardware, they MIGHT have e-clips you can use.

for hinge pins, they are 1/8" eclips. the spring loaded one inside a 6 gear, I THINK is for a 3/16 shaft.

mcmaster-carr will have these in bulk for cheaper then you will probably find anywhere else.

Gents, please be careful and do not let this slip into a Wanted/Buy/Sell/Trade thread..... it's on that thin line.

Please see the following thread for info on how to gain access to that area of the forum.

What you really need to understand is that there are a lot of members here that get on here everyday. Regardless of your opinion of that, the rule is in place so that threads don't become bogged down with one douche-bag making a small time deal with another member. When I, or anyone else goes to read new posts I don't want to read 100 about deals going down. Do it thru PMs or the B/S/T. I want to be informed, or at least mildly amused when reading new posts. I wouldn't normally post like this, but it may help clear up the reason the rule is in place. And they're not police, but moderators. I would challenge you to open a forum with no moderators or rules and see what happens. :D
