How much would you pay for an RC10 Titanium screw kit?

Well I just had 2 Associated blue screws sheer off on me while unscrewing them from my car, just bought from Tower last month. So titanium is sounding nice right now. However, I have had a titanium screw set on my watch list on ebay for a TC5 for a while now, but I can't seem to bring myself to pay $65 for it so I guess $25-$35 maybe $40 if they're pretty. And that's the thing with titanium; its always been more expensive than what I have wanted to pay for it.

Depends on the Titanium I guess. High quality titanium will be expensive. I ran for Lunsford for years, and their screws were manufactured on site. They lasted for ever, and rarely broke. Since then I have seen and used many Titanium screws that are cast (not turned billet). These are no better than aluminum. The heads strip easily, and break about the same as aluminum. For now I will stick with steel, as weight is not really a concern since lipo has come on the scene. Let us know what type of screws you are coming up with. -Jeff

That kinda sums up my thoughts. Strength is much more important than weight in today's game. Looks and strength should overrule weight every time in my opinion. Not to mention that Titanium has become like HD or "i" being placed in front of products. Great for marketing. but not much "real world" value. My money is best spent elsewhere on a car.

To be honest, I'd rather buy a full gold (or black) anodized or powder coated kit.

Regardless if the screws were rolled, machined or cast, the screws need to be the right alloy. If they are real 6al-4v then they will be very strong. Commercially pure titanium is like low grade steel. Slightly better than aluminum.

I'd actually be the most interested in an Adamantium set.

OK....not happening. OMG this stuff is CRAZY expensive. I thought I may have to shell out a fair bit for a set but one quote I had was $16 for 1 screw......1 screw.

your best bet would be to figure out all the hardware you need, and purchase them through lunsford, at approx $1-$2 per screw. that is the cheapest you will find.

possibly if you had enough interest, lunsford could make up a kit and that might be slightly cheaper.
