Meh for me too. A copy-cat of a few other brands' newly-released designs, late to the party.

I like it!
I don't have a SC truck, but I might be willing to get one of these to play around with. If there was a 4wd version, I would really consider it. I'm just looking for something different to take to the track and run non competitively.
I wonder if there will FT version?

Re: TEAM ASSOCIATED SC10BRS SHORT COURSE BUGGY!
i wouldn't go that far to call it a copy cat. it's b4/t4/sc10 based so it's already alot better then the other ones out there.Coelacanth wrote:Meh for me too. A copy-cat of a few other brands' newly-released designs, late to the party.
the ultima scb was very budget minded, the losi well is a losi.
it's shorter then a sc10, so it might actually turn. still meh from me though.
the last thing 2wd buggy needs is another class to compete with. it's been nice seeign new faces at the track with the sc trucks and after a few weeks they are all interested in 2wd mod buggy. i've help convert quite a few drivers, i hope scb's don't get in the way of helping 2wd grow.

Re: TEAM ASSOCIATED SC10BRS SHORT COURSE BUGGY!
I like the fact that plastic rollcages are back in fashion, but does absolutely everything have to be ready-to-run? And if they do ever come out with a kit version, it will be Factory Team spec, which puts it out of the range I'm willing to spend. Come on, Associated; some of us really miss the days when a new RC10 variant came as a kit and was offered in several different equipment/price levels.

X2...Oh, come on Associated.. really?

It'd be cool if it was an original idea but...I sure miss the old days.
Where's the re-re classic RC10 that everyone wants?
It looks like a clone of the Kyosho & Losi & Axial & ....
Maybe you can copy the Traxxas funny car next too?
Projects and shelfers:
Late Edinger, RC10B2, Dual Sport, GT, Kyosho Turbo Ultima, Triumph, Tamiya Sand Scorcher, Blackfoot/Monster Beetle, '67 Beetle, Nikko Rhino, Traxxas Fiero, Slash, Hand-built Dune Buggy..all on here somewhere...

Re: TEAM ASSOCIATED SC10BRS SHORT COURSE BUGGY!
I like it.
There's people out there that like the look of REAL 2WD buggies more so than the Short course trucks and more so than the full on 1/10 racing 2WD buggies. I happen to be in that group.
Does it necessarily create another class? Depends. I was the only one with an SCB locally and I was running with the SCT's. No big deal.
Calling it a copy is not really fair, I'm glad to see it the same general configuration (and scale for that matter) as the Losi SCB and Ultima.

I think I'd buy a FT version if it had the new big bore shocks
A 4wd version would be cool too, but it would seem they're just jumping on the SCB bandwagon

If AE came out with this design before the Losi, Ultima & Axial cars, then it wouldn't be a copycat.Brandon G wrote:Calling it a copy is not really fair, I'm glad to see it the same general configuration (and scale for that matter) as the Losi SCB and Ultima.

Re: TEAM ASSOCIATED SC10BRS SHORT COURSE BUGGY!
It'd be nice if the scale would have stayed the same. If the SCBs fit in the same box as the 2wd race buggies, they could run the same class. I like race buggies (no cab forward for me though), but also appreciate the cage buggies. I love the wild one and the ultima. When the Ultima DB came out, i had the idea of putting the narrower RB5 suspension on it, along with the shorter RB5 chassis, I never have had the $$ to try it out though. I'd imagine you could throw B4 suspension and B4 or T4 chassis under that cage. IDK, the scale might be off still w/ SC wheels/tires, but that could be changed for B4 too. Now that I think about it the cage itself would probably be over scaled for "normal" buggy components anyway... Oh well.
EDIT:
The more I think about it, I think the scale of the SCB, with those big meats really lends itself to bashing in construction zones, vacant lots and the woods. or running on tracks shared w/ 8th scales. Honestly that's what I think hurt 1/10 racing so much is building big spread out tracks that weren't useful to 1/10th.

Re: TEAM ASSOCIATED SC10BRS SHORT COURSE BUGGY!
Been wanting to try a different buggy and I have been thinking about converting my SC10 to a T4, but now this looks like it might be fun instead, and it possibly uses a T4 chassis.
Although I am happy seeing 2wd buggy taking off again, It never hurts to have more to choose from for new comers and old timers.
