got a cadillac, now onto building it!
so this is my first rc10, and so far i like what i see! i used the "first 25 years of rc10" to id the car and i guess she is in good shape,
my buddy owns a hawk shop and i traded some old 360 games for two old tamiya brats, he threw in the gold pan no charge with a box of parts telling me the tranny was there. low and behold its another brat tranny...... so the car was missing the front springs theough the shocks were there. and the rear motor mount and a vintage motor occupied the back. i hope to get the chassis back to stock so my bro and i can race (he got one of the brats off me). and since i am broke from moving my bro and i are debating fabing some tranny mounts and jerry rigging the brat tranny in. mind you we wont mod the chassis at all we want to start a vintage class in bend were we live but i dont have 40 bucks to blow on a tranny that fits
and i cant figure out how to post pictures

Upload to tinypic.com then copy and paste the "forum" code here. Welcome to the forum. Sounds like a pretty good trade. Old games never get played.

Re: got a cadillac, now onto building it!
If you epay you should be able to get a 6 gear for less than $40. My mint full bearing 6 gear with motor mount just sold for $30. You can probably pick one up for around $20 if you are not concerned about the color of the case/motor mount. Don't disgrace the RC10 with a Tamiya trans Good luck!
Re: got a cadillac, now onto building it!
well Knucklebuster i am taking your advice, so instead of a Tamiya trans i am trying to trade stuff on craigslist. so i am seeing if i can trade off my tamiya brat/frog chassis and trans for a trans for the rc10, and maybe a esc/motor if i am lucky! but sadly out of a job since the move, so even the exo is on the shelf awaiting its new shocktower XD.
And now i play the waiting game

Good to hear you are making progress and sticking with the Associated parts. I am sure it will be easier in the end. You wouldn't want an RC10/Tamiya getting smoked by a RC10
Re: got a cadillac, now onto building it!
Just wondering, where did all these black 6 gears come from? I thought AE never sold a car with a black 6 gear. Were they replacement parts?
. . . you have Associated Green Slime for brains. And not even new Green Slime, but old gooped out Green Slime.

so the rc10 is still on the shelf, i keep coming back to it, but am laking funds. been working on my big block supermaxx and my tamiya f150
been looking into how much it would cost to get the tranny and get a old mechanical speed control, cause my now three buddies are now running vintage cars with mech speed controls. really want to go vintage.
but the new update is that i might be able to pick up a rc10 b2 buggy roller for almost nothing. so the speedy will be the b2 and the vintage will be my goldy
and finnally the racers in bend i race with
Stickolous- vintage 87 tamiya brat
Coco- vintage traxxas bullet
Kitty Kat- vintage tamiya sand scorcher
And me atm- modded tamiya f150
and vinatge means all the era parts they came with when new!
