New hobby room
New hobby room
Just wanted to show off my new hobby room. Around this time last year I moved into this house which had a virgin basement. I finally was able to build a dedicated hobby room! This is what I came up with. Room is only 10x10 but has plenty of counter space and lots of cabinets for storage. Only thing that might become a problem is there isnt enough shelf space!
Hope you like it!

Looks great! When you need more room just get rid of the lawn dart and you got room for like 6 more cars

Yeah! Ive been kinda busy lately! Like I said the basement was wide open so I completely finished the whole thing. That took some time as im not a big construction person. Im also in the process of rebuilding my 1:1 race truck. Still have a bunch to do on that and im running out of time and $$$! I've been lurking. Just havent posted much lately. Hopefully in a couple weeks I'll have some builds to share! Stay tuned!

Re: New hobby room
No way Id ever get rid of the lawn dart! That was built by my grandfather in (im guessing) late '60s early '70s? Unfortunatly I never met my grandfather. He passed away when I was an infant. Id really like to restore it but I know nothing about covering a plane and Id hate to screw something up. The covering was falling off years ago already and when I was younger I would pick at it. Wish I wouldn't have done that!gomachv wrote:Looks great! When you need more room just get rid of the lawn dart and you got room for like 6 more cars

Re: New hobby room
Very cool! That's a tough one cause while it would be cool to re-cover it, you also don't want to take off the patina. If you do decide to take the covering off you might want to find the guy at the local model club that does everyone's covering for them. Have it "professionally" done. You could even do it in clear so you could admire the work
Emotions aside though, planes take up too much room!

Re: New hobby room
It looks so good! I was wondering why you chose to use tile on all sections of the wall?

Re: New hobby room
It looks awesome for now, but it will fill up too quick, lol, yup more shelf space to show off the goods.
Re: New hobby room
Its not tile. Its actually paneling. The pics dont show it but its brushed aluminum. Its not exactly what I wanted but I couldnt find the other stuff anymore. At my old house I had solid brushed aluminum panels. No tiles. It looked bad ass. This was the next best thing I guess. If I ever find the other stuff Ill redo it for sure.slotcarrod wrote:It looks so good! I was wondering why you chose to use tile on all sections of the wall?
