graphite runner/racer project
hello, this is my graphite runner project, I will probably race it in local club race.
I have just finished the body "time tunnel style".
It's a chinese Viper, they are great for runners: overspray film and stronger lexan.
It has Losi alloy bellcrank steering, new stronger Asso turnbuckles, J-concept ball cups, stealth tranny, Reedy quad mag .
Soon:
Novak T4 esc, a wing (of course), white RPM 2.65 gear box, .71 front and 1.32 rear shocks, better wheels...

that paint job looks good. nice color choice.
i have a question , how did you get the lines so perfect, what kind of masking method and material did you use.

i think he means it's just the "new" style associated viper body that's made in china.Northy2 wrote:Where do you get them from?ra272 wrote:It's a chinese Viper, they are great for runners: overspray film and stronger lexan.

Awesome car!
I am not a big fan of the Viper body but with the "less cut away" nose that is possible due to the lack of the tub chassis alloy tubes it looks fantastic!
Great work.

I use ONLY tamiya masking tape. I tried several other brands, but the Tamiya is the best in my opinion.
And yes, as scr8p said, it's the rerelease of the viper by Asso but producted by Thunder Tiger in china. I bought it from Tower.
I also had a 6" high downforce wing from Tower that is made in china....(on my A&L)

nice car topped off with a nice paint job ... nice . i agree with the tamiya tape. i use the thin and the thick, the thin can be nicely curved without creasing.

Too sweet (car and paint). As much as I dislike painting, you may inspire me to push beyond a one color paint job!

I can only agree with all the above, but you deserve to hear it again: Very nice and original paintjob, and nicely combined parts: great combination!

Paint job is not very original...it's exactly the time tunnel designMr. ED wrote:I can only agree with all the above, but you deserve to hear it again: Very nice and original paintjob, and nicely combined parts: great combination!
I received a few "upgrade parts" MIP CVD's, RPM 2.65 conversion (I really love that tranny box), High downforce wing, RRP delrin super machined spur gear.
I'll post picts when I received all the missing parts (electronics, bigger shocks).

Re: graphite runner/racer project
Work in progress, I made the first run in my living room.
It has now a wing (of course), team car shocks, Stealth tranny with 2.65 RPM conversion, MIP CVD's, my old accoms radio ,a really nice Novak T4, and a Reedy quadmag 19 (don't want to run vintage motors).
Next, I will probably get some 2.2 wheels, some modern tires and race against modern buggys at my club...

Bery, bery nice!
I stil love the way the body looks and I just realised that you masked the front window in a different way - I like it!
