Hello from Tecnacraft!

Post by Damen »

Hi everyone-

My name is Damen Hattori, I'm the oldest son of the founder/owner/machinist of Tecnacraft, Steve Hattori. Steve closed the doors to his machine shop, Salinas Valley Precision (the same shop in which Tecnacraft products were manufactured), in July 2011.

I helped him clean out all the old storage space in the shop and ran across a couple pieces of old Tecnacraft stock in the process. Out of curiosity, I Google'd "Tecnacraft" to see if there was any product or interest floating out in the ether, which led me to this forum. It seems that there are still some people interested in it, which is pretty neat. I was in elementary school at the time, so I didn't understand it too well, other than I had a sweet RC car.

I saw a couple posts on here from Joe Goodwin, who I remember well. He was always nice to me as a small kid and schooled me up on old comic books.

Anyhow, I kept a little bit of the old stock I found in storage (some wheels, tie rods, etc), so I'll clean some of it up and post it on here. Also, if anyone has any questions about Tecnacraft, I'd be happy to answer them.

Nice to meet you!

Hello to you, and thank you for your interesting story taking you here! I think a few of the guys round here are interested to see what was in that old storage space.... :D

Get ready for the pm's. Some of us get a bit lost over these things.

Welcome to the forum. It would be interesting to see what was left over from that era.

Great to have you here. Your dad's company made some highly desirable parts. It would be really cool to hear some stories and see old stock. Welcome!

I thought the same thing when I read it. This is supposed to be about some sweet Tecnacraft goods, old comics are as good as titanium parts to me.

Interested to see what becomes of this, Welcome Damen.

Ha, sorry for the comic book tangent; didn't mean to cause confusion. Thanks for the warm welcome!

No confusion here for sure, the products your family has invented and produced are top notch. My thanks for that. Comics are a whole separate entity for me, going back to the days before RC caught my interest.

There are going to be a ton of inquires as to what you have, where are you selling them, how much etc etc. Please keep us all informed as to what your next step is.

As a few have said already, welcome to the forum. You will find no better place online.

Maybe start a thread with some pictures, or post up some background info on the company, even your personal take on growing up with your dad in this great hobby.

Keep the rules in mind, check em here: http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=909

I don't want to see this thread disappear over some technicalities.
