Re: GOT ME A TRAXXAS WILDCAT
I was watching the damn video when I stopped it was sold. Damn you!
The wildcats I've seen have 4 rear shocks, two with springs, and 2 front shocks. The Cheyenne I have also has dual front shocks but shows a mono shock on the manual. I'm sure they were just making running changes

Re: GOT ME A TRAXXAS WILDCAT
Not missing, they didn't run a rear mono shock but the arms are generic. My Cheyenne has the mono shock stubs that were cut off on the front arms. They probably used those arms on a car that had a rear mono shock at one point. If anything your missing a tower and pair of springless shocks but it's likely a running change

Re: GOT ME A TRAXXAS WILDCAT
So, are the wildcat and Cheyenne related? 2wd and 4wd of the same platform?

Bluebird was the oem, made both as well as the Growlers and others I'm sure. Just rebadged by other companies. Traxxas badged as a Wlidcat but quickly recalled them, however I'm sure they were sold by others too

Re: GOT ME A TRAXXAS WILDCAT
There was a Traxxas rep that "admitted" that they sold the car but traxxas doesn't even acknowledge it let alone provide sales numbers. I have a Cox Gasser Euro Trasher that was also a recalled product.

We definitely produced the car. It was a VERY limited edition product. There are very very few remaining Wildcats in existence and unfortunately there are no compatible parts remaining in our warehouse. If it breaks it will be very difficult to find replacement parts for it.

I'm wondering now how much Traxxas and how much Robbe there is in yours.I suspect that this car originated from that far-eastern Knock-Off model company that has made more than its fair share of clone cars in its time… I am referring to the Blue Bird model manufacturing company of Taiwan, My Super Baja (Optima Clone) and my Robbe Cheyenne (Fox Clone) were also made by this company but this car (like the Cheyenne) has been repackaged and sold by System Robbe, this car was sold by Traxxas under the “Wild Cat” name in their very earliest days, It had a slightly different front suspension set up (duel shocks) but was same car all the same and the only 4WD EP buggy sold by them but it was not on sale for very long as it was felt by many that the car was a little too close a copy of the Tamiya Hotshot so it was quickly withdrawn from sale… but a few years later Robbe picked up the design and sold it under their own name

klavy was involved in this thread...he may have more to add?Personally I wouldn't pay $20 for that hotshot ripoff, but that's just my 2 centsThat's not a Wildcat. It looks like it's probably the BlueBird version of it with the mono front shock. The Wildcat had two front shocks & 4 rear shocks, though one set of the rear shocks were for extra dempening and had no springs. The chassis were a bit different and the suspension arms were a little different too.

Seems odd that a company would brand a companies name that wasn't even in business yet! If this is true I bet Traxxas commissioned them, saw it in person and backed out. Those that were commissioned were probably sold off in the traxxas boxes but not by traxxas! Never knowI have a nib Wildcat too. They were made by Bluebird in Taiwan. The nice man at Traxxas told me they were an "Unauthorised release" by the manufacturer and should not have had the Traxxas name on them. Iterestingly, if you look at the Traxxas website history page you will see that they list their first release as being the Traxxas Cat in 1987. The manual and parts catalogue I have with my Wildcat is dated 1986.

Re: GOT ME A TRAXXAS WILDCAT
Still a cool rare car, just add shocks! If it's like the Cheyenne, Bluebird probably named it the Wildcat which explains the body
