Bogata Steve's RC10 A Stamp Restoration
This is my running thread of my very first RC10 being restored. When I was a kid in 1985 I raced Tamiya because I couldn't afford what I really wanted. I found a complete A stamp on eBay in rough shape. Took it apart and cleaned each part with soap and water, a tooth brush and a dental pick. My plan is not to have a 100% pure original parts but I would like to keep it mostly original. I already replaced the wheels and tires, added new bearings, (replaced the bushings) and swapped out the 30 year old screw set. I don't want to build a shelf queen, this car will be used on the road, I just won't beat on it. I've been out of the hobby for a while and have little experience with the RC10 platform. Thank you anyone for your advice, its appreciated. I've going to post where I am with my build as I go.

Old stock new in box, Futaba Attack R from 1994
Paid $10.50 on eBay. It’s half tested, keeping my fingers crossed. Didn’t test channel one yet.

New bearings are definitely smooth. Coming together nice, making sure not to over tighten the screws.

More progress made. This won’t be the final pan configuration.

Sizing up the body to drill the holes. Not bad looking.

Slick, I like it. You could also velcro the body to the sides of the pan... no holes! I plan to do that on my next pan build.

Didn’t realize that was an option. Next time I’ll try.NomadRacer wrote: ↑Thu Mar 29, 2018 2:01 pm Slick, I like it. You could also velcro the body to the sides of the pan... no holes! I plan to do that on my next pan build.
