Looks great, I think I recall Gil Jr. saying he was most proud of XX4 as it changed the course of 4wd design and arguably cars today are the evolution of it's design still. Was it the last car he designed for Losi?

No, the JRXS Type R was the last car designed by Gil Jr.
He was damn proud of that car, with good reason.
Matt Francis tried turning one into an off road car, using XXX4 suspension, with little success..

Re: XX4 project I've been working on...
I have been very much into xx4 and all Losi cars few years ago. Generaly I started racing jest after Kinwald won WC in1997 and the Spashet diminated on road WC in 1998 . Till 2012 i raced my XX4 and suffered its all downsides with lipos and BL motors - especialy as we race in Poland at huge 1:8 tracks with big 2-3 meter high jumps or long 5-7m long flights .
It forced me to make some radical upgrades . I did not have time to share it on internet so those would be the firts pictures posted on the web- generaly all the mods did the job . If you like to se more let me know.

- Mid belt was a real disaster at some point- when original belts were discontinued the all substitutes didnt last long in 2M module. I designed 3M belt pulleys machined them on CNC and changed mid belt to 3M - there was a small ratio difference but it was like 1% i dint notice it on the track ( probably this drive ratio issue forced Losi to use this stupid 2M belts
