Kyosho Raider Racer Build!
Hi Guys
As I Race Kyosho rb7/zx7 I thought I would add a Kyosho vintage car to the fleet
So I got this crappy looking raider off eBay for £10.00
I was thinking mid motor, gear diff could be a good vintage racer if I can work some magic on it!
Anyone ever rebuilt/raced one??
Any other body’s fit on other than the original??

Re: Kyosho Raider
There were two original bodies offered, the early style and later 'pro' style. Both with fit, but the 'pro' style requires separate wing mount.
I'm guessing the Kyosho Rocky body will also be a near-direct fit.
Looks like TBG has them...

Re: Kyosho Raider
When you get a chance, count the teeth on the spur gear. The stock spur has 36 teeth from memory and makes them a little under geared and slow out of the box with a stock motor. Kyosho's optional spur gear set is RD22. The spur has 32 teeth and brings the gearing into a more usable range for racing.

The strip down begins!
All the parts are now soaking in warm water and washing up liquid ready for a good scrub!

Re: Kyosho Raider Racer Build!
Jeff at Factory Works had some G10 goodies for the Raider that might help with suspension geo and use of lipo packs. I'm not sure if they're still available. Shoot him a PM if interested...
