brushed motor recommendation for 6-gear?

Post by strangersinspace »

I haven't bought a new brushed motor in ages, but my old runner motor finally bit the dust. I'm not up-to-date on all the brands and specs, etc. Can someone offer a recommendation for a very basic brushed motor for some back yard fun that would run on 6 nimh cells with an old novak esc? I'm hoping to find something inexpensive around $20.

The Reedy Radon 2 motors are on sale at Amain for $21 right now. They have some cheaper motors there as well.

The 17 or 19T should be a good match for a six gear car. For playing around in the yard, I'd lean towards the 19T.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

Thank you. Just what I was looking for. My Novak ESC still works, but it doesn't have reverse... can you suggest a decent "sport" ESC that would suit the Raedon 19T?

I’m a big fan of these off Amazon if you need both esc and motor. The esc will handle lipo or nimh and it has reverse. Are they the best? No… but they are $24 shipped and work great for everything I’ve put em in.
