BITD there were all these conversions for buggys to on-road and LTOs. I don't think that ROAR and IFMAR changed their max width rules, but the JRx2s and RC10s, must not have been quite as wide as today's buggies. Those Jammer and Hyperdrive conversions didn't have any issue getting those buggies into a 235mm/9.25" width body.
I have a Kyosho RB6.6, that I want to convert to a gearbox-style road runner. Wouldn't it be awesome with its laydown trans and some shortened towers and touring or other short body shocks?
I just cannot seem to determine how to get the car down to a track width less than 9.75, still too wide for even the wide bodies that are 8.75- 9.5. I've thought of 3d printing some arms, but then I keep coming back to the trouble of the universals or dogbones. There doesn't seem to be a good solutionfor that.
Suggestions?

Most of the old gear-jammer cars had problems with the rear wheels sticking out when using bodies designed for pan cars. I expect modern cars are even worse since they typically use deeper offset wheels than the old buggies, to get as much length out of the arm as possible.
An option might be to build the chassis for a longer wheelbase and use a no-prep drag car, or 1/8 scale road course body.

They must be wider than the b4 series since they fit under custom works oval bodies.
