FWD off road buggy???
FWD off road buggy???
Hey guys back in the 80's there was a front wheel drive off road buggy that was available. I'm trying to remember the brand and the name of that buggy. Anyone remember???

Re: FWD off road buggy???
I have a set of rear tires for the Nichimo Exceed/Spirit in almost perfect condition. When I worked at the hobby store in my youth, I bought the tires because they fit my Turbo Optima wheels perfectly. That's probably why I know a bit about them. They weren't a good seller, though.

Here's a rather funny vid of the Spirit FF. Funny, because the dude seems to like going in reverse more than forward--and that, probably because it looks like it didn't go very well in forward on gravel....just spinning the front wheels and spitting gravel, mostly.

Good thing you chose the Ultima.

Re: FWD off road buggy???
We have occasional vintage races at our local track and one of the directors broke out his Maxxum this past season. A Traxxas TRX-1 and a gold pan with a silver can lapped it (at least once) in a 4 minute race. It just dragged itself around the track... no weight on those front wheels to get up and go.
I did used to drool over the Nichimos back in the day (cool box art and so much overengineering), and would gladly snag a Spirit FF if the price was right today.

The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

Looked like he had a rear end problem. No rear drive at all by the looks of it .Coelacanth wrote:Here's a rather funny vid of the Spirit FF. It's not supposed to, it's a front wheel drive car.WillyThickfoot wrote:Looked like he had a rear end problem.
