HPI RS4MT (Updated Pics 7/4)

Post by THEYTOOKMYTHUMB »

Didn't see any immediate topics on HPI so I figured I'd list this. I got this HPI RS4MT several months ago and it's just been collecting dust. 2 of them came in a lot I bought. It was a killer deal, but I mainly just wanted the Mamba Max that came in the lot. I traded the other RS4MT for another Mamba Max since then. I was gonna get rid of both of them, but it's pretty cool being 4WD and all. Anyone have any input on where I might want to go with this? Lighting was bad. sorry

There's a good chance I may be picking one of these up next week. Are parts difficult to find? The seller says he has some spares, but usually what's left are the bits that don't break!
What's the going rate for a decent runner? $60-75usd sound reasonable?
Thanks!

Parts seem easy to come by from what I've seen. They are very rubbery so I'm guessing they take a pretty
good beating. I think they used this same base-design for a lot of their cars. I'd say that price is about right.

I've seen a couple go for $125. I was watching a few when I was deciding whether or not to sell it. You know how ebay is, you just never know. I'm done selling on there I think. My last 2 sells went for nothing. It looks like yours has the titanium turnbuckles. Nice addition. I've been watching a few sets.
I think their current model's wheels will still work with these so that should make them easy to come by. :D

Yeah, I've never sold anything on e-bay. It's kind of a crap shoot but I also believe that presentation is a big part of the sale. A small fuzzy picture or a dirty car will generally bring less money than bright clear pictures and clean equipment. It's a perception of quality thing. It's still a gamble when you throw something up there though.
My truck came with the following:
Full bearings, full aluminum body shocks, titanium turn buckles, heat sink motor plate, aluminum knuckles, sway bar set and front cvd's. a jr python radio, a gm racing v3 speed control and a trinity monster motor. 3 bodies, a full box of spare arms, shock towers, other plastic parts, the 4 original shocks, 2 motor plates, an extra set of drive belts, 2 full extra differentials, a set of road tires and rims, 2 brand new slipper clutch pads, manuals for the radio, speed control and the truck, also the original box. I paid 180 for all of that. It seemed steep but added all together and considering the truck was turnkey I went for it.

I've seen people say they were banned before. I hope this doesn't sound ignorant but what were they banned from and by who? ROAR? And why?

The track I run at is pretty laid back. I could probably put buggy tires on it and run with 4wd buggy or they may put me out there with the 1/8 scale truggies. We don't keep people from playing-- you just can't get point series trophies if your class has less than 3 entries for the minimum number of weeks (usually 5 out of 8 dates). I don't go for the trophies though.....

My 3 year old got sick so I spent most of my weekend reading and playing Play-doh. Oh well, hopefully I can get to it soon. I need bearings before I go too far forward anyway. Tower still
has bodies in stock. This has a clear one on it, but it's beat up pretty good. I need to get that comin' too.
