Re: Optima is back!!

It looks like the Re re Optima will be chain driven going by the new teaser pic on the Kyosho site.

Its a pic of a chain with the Optima streaking past behind it at speed.

2.2 modern wheels for the scorpion

Hey guys,

Has anyone fitted 12mm hexs to the rear of the Scorpion and 2.2 wheels to the front.

I'd be keen to know which wheels fit so I can run some modern rubber.

Cheers

Re: NIX91 Questions and Answers

has anyone thought of using the klein arms instead of the 3d printed ones for a runner?

Would they fit on the car? I'm really scared of breaking the 3d printed stuff.

I read earlier that there were molded nylon arms in the pipeline. Is this still happening?

Cheers

Re: Nix 91 stealth build

Is it possible dye color is so deep in part it doesn't go white even you grind it? I've seen SLS parts painted with acrylic hobby paint and will in most cases color entire part volume. Does it make sense to offer dyed parts through Shapeways? How do you see it? Or only black and white? -Niki- When ...

Re: Nix 91 stealth build

SLS parts were dyed by Shapeways? Do I remember right? Parts look OK? -Niki- Yep, I ordered them in yellow. They must use the same RIT dye that I have as its a perfect match. The only problem is that I'm going to have to grind the front and rear arms for clearance reasons and will have to re-dye th...

Re: Nix 91 stealth build

Yup! Love the yellow. I bet jake would do carbon towers if you ask him nicely Thanks, I wasn't sure if people would like it, but I think it looks good. It will really stand out racing against modern 2wd's that all have a similar look. Yeah, I'd love carbon towers to mount big bore shocks with holes...

Re: NIX91 Questions and Answers

I think the J concepts ones are too short and too low. The shortness would affect ackerman and the lowness would make it catch on the suspension arm. I'm also worried about how strong the steering arms are where the ball studs go through. The 3d printed material is much softer than injection molded ...

Re: NIX91 Questions and Answers

I know it would be harder but I think alloy would be a better option than the 3d printed parts. Just for the parts that screw down.
It would be great if someone could to the whole thing in alloy.

Re: NIX91 Questions and Answers

Hey there, I've just finished putting my car together and noticed that with the race arms front arms and steering, there isn't any clearance for the steering cranks when the suspension is compressed. Should I shim the steering upwards and has anyone else thought that this is an issue? Another proble...

Re: NIX91 Questions and Answers

Any word on how much longer the chassis kits will be? I think I placed my order over a month ago now. My 3d printed parts are almost done and had a couple of issues which has delayed them by almost 2 weeks. I hope to get all of my parts in the next 3 weeks and finally start building. Has anyone else...
