A plate was used to reinforced the mounting holes in the back , the rear does feel very thin . The nose tube's were also...

Re: Pituk's Optima Project
Had some time over the weekend to work on the buggy and also thanks to Marc for the parts to finish it . I went with a Robinson 12t pinion , it was the smallest one I could find at the hobby shop . The manual does show a 9t pinion , is that for running 8.4v and also do not have the motor plate insta...

Re: Pituk's Optima Project
The buggy's were definately well used , these were the extra parts in the box . All are worn or cracked except for the chain gears which was probaly because of the switch to the belts...not sure what happened to the body  . There's a couple worn final pinion gears also , is that common or did...

Re: Pituk's Optima Project
Thanks guys , Keith my chassis rails are also cracked in the same spot , right on the offset hole . This is a different one from Ebay , I picked it up locally from craiglist . It was listed as r/c car and parts with a very blurry picture of some buggy's upside down in a box . Saw the metal rails and...

Pituk's Optima Project
Here's my Optima , I picked up locally on craiglist along with a Rc10 for $100 . Besides some dirt and rust , the Rc10 looks to be in good shape...the Optima not so much . There is some extra gears , arms and also the left over chain drive but most of is very worn . Already have most of it apart for...

Re: Bottom loader shock question
I also just broke the c-clip , what do you use to replace the original c-clip ? Saw the Associated shock rebuild kit #6440 has a square clip instead , will this kit work with the older shock's , thanks .

Re: RC12E Race Car
Thanks , I've beening using your builds for reference . Question about the wiring , I would like to run it on the 4-cell , does the positive pin 1 and 2 have to be jumped on the male battery connecter ? Pin 3 is negative to resistor to motor and receiver Pin 2 is positive to resistor and to diode th...

Re: SFC K RC 10 project
Looks good , if you adjust the rear arms so there more parallel , I believe it will give you more clearence between the cup and arm .

Re: RC12E Race Car
Finally had some free time to work on the rc12 , it really just needed a good cleaning . I just removed the electronics and tires and gave everything a wipe down with a rag and q-tips . Organized the wiring and resolder some of the bad connection's . Looked at the manual a few times but can't figure...

Re: Porsche VAILLANT: the real deal!
It was a neat bike , also with the undertail exhaust and single-sided swingarm . I believe it was about $50,000 when it was introduced in the early nintey's . My favorite bike would have to be the Honda RC30....spent a lot of time staring at that one at the shop .
