AE is late to the party for sure, other manufacturers kept kits in production, tamiya and traxxas kept parts for popular kits in production nearly continuously. I don’t know what to do with this knowledge, you can nickel plate carbon fiber fabric.

What a great looking kit. One thing to do with older plastics is to soak them in water to rehydrate them. They will be much less prone to breakage if you do that.

This is my little reference. Most of this was lifted from RCCA a long time ago. Can't guarantee you it is perfect, but it has always worked for me. I’d wager if you disassembled the packs and tested individual cells you may be able to reassemble decent packs.

There are a bunch of folks racing 6 gears on carpet, but only you know how hard you are on your cars. Take it to the track on a practice day.
