So damn cold lately I havent ran RC much (19f was high today here..brrrr) but got the 51lb custom truck out today for a little run. Sorry for bad vid, I still suck filming & driving at same time.

Thanks man. Quick pic, because I posted this on another site and people don't realize how big this truck really is lol. It weighs 51lbs, here's a pic of it with me, I'm 6'4 235lbs so it gives a true idea how big this is flyin through the air...
I stumbled upon this guy's youtube channel yesterday. Maybe ya'll have seen it before but it's all new to me. Sorry if someone has already posted or has been discussed in the past.

Anybody know where can I buy spares for Veco engines? A few bits sometimes come up on eBay but is there a specialist glow engine place somewhere that messes with old engines?
Last post
Awesome! They seem to be keeping several old school engine companies alive.
Who needs a real track when a virtual one will do? There is a new game called RC Rush which raises some questions about the future of RC.
For the young and old generation, is this where we are going?

Well, why limit to RC if you can do more serious stuff?
That looks like a very serious workstation. :) Looks like you put a lot of work into it. Actually, I would argue that top RC drivers are probably phenomenal at RC racing games or racing...
Does anyone have any experience with the Hakko clone soldering irons? I need a new small soldering iron and would love to buy an older Hakko but they don't seem to be available here. I always wanted one when I was younger.

Hey Dave,
Looks like the hot air rework adds another dimension to electronics repair. The consensus seems to be they are reliable which is a good thing.
Marc, I enjoyed reading your opinions and experiences with that iron. I was thinking of...
Like many others, I have a good sized stash of retail packaged OEM parts. Unfortunately, they're all in a box right now and I forget what all I have sometimes. Might be a case of CRS, certainly not an indication of having to much inventory. I'm...

A couple of recurring themes - spreadsheet inventory list, and send parts to juicedcoupe to 'make space'.
What I like about peg board part hanging is that everything can be seen, but that does take a lot of space.
What can you do or help with? Can you share your particular set of skills with the community?
The idea of creating a skills and services list might be good for future reference. This topic can focus on RC related things to keep it organized.
Does anyone use a ball cup tool? I thought about getting the ProTek PTK-8467 ball cup tool but from the picture it isn't obvious to me how it holds them and if some are too big or too small to be held. Does this tool work well with AE and RPM ball...

One of my main issues is that the tie rods that are supposedly the right length always seem to need to be close to being bottomed out in the ball cups and it takes a lot of torque to get them adjusted to the final length.
Has anyone prepped their cars and associated parts for long term storage? I thinking some stuff may stay in boxes for years. What works and what doesn't?

So here's the thing, I was a Buggy guy, and I had a list of buggy's that I dreamt of as a kid, I've now recently completed that list and sure they could all do with the odd part here and there but essentially I've got em all. :D So I'm still looking...

I second the tennis courts. I also bring my leaf blower to prep the court to minimize pebbles and dust stuck to the car :D Love the cars too but I don't run them too often since parts are getting expensive to replace if you can find them.
Hi all, this may be a long shot, but I used to race my RC10 B2 at Walt's Hobby in Syracuse, NY back in the 1990's and had a ton of fun as a kid. I no longer live in the area, and I understand the clay track has been replaced by a carpet track, but I...
Hey all,
I am on a small trip and passing through Walnut Creek/ Concord CA (towards Diablo valley)

Did you check out the tracks?
Didn't have time and I don't have any cars with me. I might be back this way in a year
So I did go back to peak at the drift track. It looked quite cool. I could see picking up a car if I lived near by.
Hey looking for some assistance please, does anyone remember the SRM Challenge series? Specifically interested in the event that took place in 1989 Jan Feb or possibly March of that year.

My brain says shorter arm cars would require a shorter chassis and longer arm cars would require a longer chassis to get the weight transfer balance right.
I'm looking to make some boxes for my collection. It looks like the boxes would be classed as White Tab locking mailer boxes.

Most of the time when I am restoring aluminum parts, I go down one of two paths: 1) leave them with a scuffed (scothbrite) look, or 2) polish them shiny. I like both of these looks, but for what I am working on now, I would like to get to...

Most aluminum parts you get will be tumbler polished, so that all the edges are broken and flash removed. So it's likely that's the original finish.

Hello all! I've googled and searched the archives here and from what I can tell, the right servo saver for S-132h Futaba servos is 25tooth/spline. But, there are some different answers out there as well...so thought I'd check here with the experts!...
I hope this question doesn't come across as silly, I know all about roll out and tire size to calculate gear ratios, but I'm looking to make a bulk buy on some 64p Spur and Pinions for a 1/10th scale on-road/carpet pan car running OG nicads and...

They are held in by small 2-56 button head screws which screw into a small hole parallel to the the hinge pin. The screw head prevents them from coming out. The hinge pins are a smaller diameter so they won't fit into an older car.

Are the MIP shiny cvd bones the same as the regular bones except for the finish or is there supposed to be a performance advantage?

There is the standard shiny ones, which I believe is nothing more than the finish. Then there is the shiny aluminum ones, which are obviously different.
My hope is this thread becomes an ongoing resource of information to help further the knowledge / resources for the older MIP bones (shiny and dark) 1/10 and 1/8 scales
and so forth. There is limited information on the web especially when it comes...
