RC10T buggy thingy

Well, my home made wheelie skis have been bent back and forth so many times one broke off. Is there any wheelie bar out there that would suit my build?
I think Banzibars make one for the T4 and T3. I think I could mount one of those easily enough with a couple of drilled holes.

Probably could mod the wheelie bar from the Losi Speed-T pretty easily.

I don't know about how durable those look. My aluminum strips have been bent back without any trouble. I think I need a thick steel one for this build.

While waiting to get back home I had trimmed the nose plate down so it doesn't catch the air as much, but left enough to protect the front of the chassis. That lip in the front probably contributed to the lifting of the front end.

Also I added 2.5 ounces of lead to the front. I took 2 egg shaped fishing weights and molded them to fit inside the 10T bulkhead snugly, screwed them together and then screwed it to the base of the shock tower. These ones shouldn't get dislodged like my last ones.

I should be able to get some good rooster tails on the beach out of her now!

I haven't updated this one in a while...working lots and then vacation, and now play.

Play when it isn't broken, dam mamba max.

I got all of the stealth gears in alloy now, with the exception of the spur gear.

The quick release setup didn't last long. I guess all of the torque has to go somewhere. Maybe I should loosen my slipper even more than I have.

So, after that little setback I took the opportunity to show off my other set of new wheels. RPM torquers with dirt hawgs, which I had to change out the quick releases for the plain axles. I will be running these wheels until I get new parts. I still cant believe I haven't got to the beach with my paddle tires

You may have notice the wheelie bar. It works great, but it's not needed as much with the 2.5 oz of lead in the nose. I haven't strapped a gps to it recently, but I'm sure I can get it over 70 now that the front wheels are on the ground most of the time.

For better support, I shelfed the home made top deck and installed a composite craft top deck. It looks better and gives a little extra support length ways.

It moved the body mounts back so I covered the old holes up with some new driving lights.

i finally have the beast in one piece AND to the beach. The beach is where this thing belongs...like driving on clouds with a few short stops to look at the girls .

It all came to an end when a wheelie went out of control and I stopped in the ocean. The water just went up a few inches but enough to submerge the battery

Yikes! Salt water and lipo's dont go well together. That is how you neutralize a lipo!

i just got around to seeing if my esc and motor is OK. Since the salt water reached the battery, it got to the motor too. I used a new battery and tried things out. The motor wires got real hot, the wheels couldn't turn very much, but the lights on the esc corresponded properly to the radio. As a precaution, I took the mamba max esc apart and used CLR and water to remove the salty crud inside. As per the motor, I took the 6 screws out but cant seem to manage to get the ends off. Even though the rotor moves ok something is making the motor over heat and not allow the esc to do the work.

ANY suggestions???????????????????? besides to stay out of the ocean next time.

Unfortunately the castle motors are notoriously hard to take apart. The screws strip very easily (both the allen and phillips type), and both the endbells appear to be glued to the center section.

I've gotten the outer endbell off, but I believe it took the use of an adjustable wrench, and the teeth marred it pretty well.

Its too bad they aren't made to be easier to service, as bearings require replacement from time to time, and yours appears to need some interior cleaning.

Man i would be sick if i had that motor and took a dip in the ocean. I have killed a couple esc's before by running through puddles that ended up being a little deeper than expected.

i was only set back for a bit. i sent in the motor to castle creations for a replacement and got a better, higher mAmp battery and kept on going. i am keeping it away from the water now though

i also improved it a bit by adding a composit craft upper deck with proper cc standoffs. No more home made deck finally.

I'm on vacation right now, but I will update some photos when I get back home.
