Finman's RC10 Graphite(?)

Post by finman »

This is my first adventure into RC10's having previously been Tamiya.

Brought this from e-bay - assume a graphite chassis, it has a stealth gearbox (would it have come with this?) Nice pink wheels!!

Why don't people clean anything they put on e-bay!

Let me know what think, any advice appreciated.

be glad he didn't clean it: might have pushed up the price. It's surprising how much more one can get for something spent an hour cleaning on

Looks like it will make a nice runner; that's your plan for it right? Though they're not my favourite (blasphemy I know  ) they run excellent in stock form. Still if you want some tips: there's plenty of that in the old-new threads.

I would say the Stealth trans was added due to the fact that your car has gold shocks.

Congrats on your purchase. Looks like you got yourself a set of good turnbuckles as well!!! People that do not clean their sales are just lazy and do not care! But like previously stated they might want more money. I guess now it is time for you to dive in and get it all up and running again.

By the way, Love the Pink Wheels - not a joke reminds me of the Yokomo Pinks Masami ran.

Anyway best of luck with your car.

Maurice

PS: Is that wire on the front bulkhead part of a stabilizer?

Welcome Finman! Congrats on your new find. I was curious about the rear shock tower though.

Nice looking project. The stock rear tower looks to be heavily modified, dont know how that may hold up in a tumble...

I see part of a Losi battery box sitting on there too.

I'm having a blast with my old is new car, cant wait to hit the track with it!!

Just started to strip it down, I've begun with the rear as the diff felt a little notchy.

Just found it's missing one of the tiny bearings - don't know where that could have gone, also lots of old sticky grease!!

Just had a look at the rear shock tower, it looks as if it was originally a three hole one that has been opened up. Sounds like a good excuse to get a carbon one.

Atlas makes some nice shock towers. He's a member on here. He also make transmission braces that look better than original.

I wonder how many people cleaned up old cars with the intention of selling them, and then decided to keep it after it was all clean and shiny.

this one looks like fun. I always liked the graphite cars. That definitely looks like the stock rear tower, which should be included in the lite weight thread  That was probably not the best way to reduce weight.

Just received received my goodies from Fibre-lyte, but when it come to the fitting some of the holes I'm screwing into in the bulkhead seem a little 'loose'.

They have probably been over tightened at some point, any suggestions at tightening up the holes ?
