To organize a vintage meet "Date is set for the first meet"
Hi all experts!
I’m in the process to organize a vintage meet in Sweden this summer, and I want some good advice as an organizer! I have been in the organizing comity in several meets before, but never in a vintage meet. I understand that many of you guys have lot of experience of organize vintage meet.
I appreciate all help I can get!

Listen to what your possible entrants want. Nothing is more important to make it more than a one-timer than a descent turn-up.

Re: To organize a vintage meet
I have run several meetings here in Australia now - my best advice is to keep it simple - not too many classes and stick to your guns. You are never going to please everybody - but listen to the majority.
Happy for you to shoot me a PM if you need to chat as well.
Cheers
Darryn

About the beautiful ladies, I would love to have them … but Sweden is to much a liberated country for this to pass unnoticed, I don’t need some women’s lib breading down my neck! But thank you guys for the suggestion!

Re: To organize a vintage meet
I would run it more as a general r/c get together, but with a serious emphasis on vintage. In my experience 50% of the people that are into it now, were also into it then, but don't bother much with the "then" stuff. Get everyone into the event and then make sure they bring all their stuff.

That pretty much sums it up.THEYTOOKMYTHUMB wrote:I would run it more as a general r/c get together, but with a serious emphasis on vintage. Vintage racing is all about remembering the good old days of R/C. This usualy meant some cars were down right disfunctional with their crazy designs when compared to the racers of today. God knows why some manufacturers did what they did but this is exactly what makes vintage so popular in my opinion.
Overall people will show up with cars that may not even seem all that competitive but the fact they can stick an old favoutite on the track will be reward enough for some of these guys.
Vintage really isn't about winning trophys but about earning back those memories of long ago.
Have fun!!
