12,000RPM, .125 depth. Same as with the 2 flute. I'll be dropping the plunge rate back down, MasterCam auto-upped it to 8IPM from 5.5IPM, so I'm thinking I might not have had full chip removal.
I've since dropped the depth of cut as well.

Live and learn...

Ahh yeah I hate when the alloy chip melts to the drill or mill even with adequate coolant

so the prototype turned up today from Walt 8) ,And seeing as the new bearings hadn't turned up yet ,decided to go to my LHS to get some.
As the wife likes to drive, i had time to fiddle with the parts .
the motor plate dowels need to be finalized , and when the 4,40 penetrations are slimmed down should leave a nice seal next to the diff.
first time i needed to use some 4,40 screws to separate the two halves but after striping it down a few times you can fiddle it apart
The bearing are slip fit ,and after trying the new ,and some old bearings always biased the gear instead of the casing .
i guess we will see after some lipo BL abuse ?
I think i like the idea of being able to use the oem nylon spacers for my runners and have some bling for the shelf .

i am wondering if the aluminum case will help the plastic diff gear survive a little longer. I can't get more than 10 runs out of one.

Simply amazing this is becoming a reality. Hope the thing gets put thru the ringer so by the time some go on sale, they'll be bullet proof! Just need a RC10 with a stealth now!

It spins smooth the sealed bearings still have a little drag i gave it a pack and all sounds great will have time for a few more wed thurs .
i have some paddle tires the same as jeeps build , lets see if i can get more than 10 runs . Only thing that's hard to get used to is the diff resonates through the pan  kind of threw me first time i put power to the wheels. on .LOL i had already tore the thing apart twice in an hour so i new it was correct .
it has the only B/L esc i have left a little traxxas 1/12 or 1/18 scale LOL going to my LRP 10.5
pretty quick on the hard top but i think its days would be numbered in the sand .
Im hoping to have some monster power for it next week as the whole truck came in $120 bucks i will be interested to see some high speed jumps rolls ,flips now there is a large chunk of alloy back there with, another large chunk of the same jumps will be something new

I bet the overall weight is roughly the same when you use lipo
Now you just got more weight on the back wheels (Wheely)

Walt
will you make the 2,60 ratio gearbox at some time in the future ?

I'll be ordering stock for a 30 unit run soon. If there is interest in more than 30, I can get more.

Delrin hasn't been ordered yet, I need to know who wants "natural white" and who wants black, and how many.

Mods, where's the best place to put the "Official preorder number inquiry thread"?
