Re: New Tamiya releases
I'm hoping for a Super Champ too. But now knowing Tamiya, They'll probably put the SC body on a stupid, cheap plastic chassis. I'm glad the Sand Rover is coming out, could use the body on my SRB, but as the 500th kit release?! That's the best they could come up with?! You'd think they would come out with some kind of super sweet limited edition new or popular re-release with a lot of extras like a t-shirt, extra parts, or something! Not a DT-02 chassisd SR. I'm officially let down.

Re: New Tamiya releases
I know it will be far cry waiting and some will raise an eyebrow (shouting stop re-re
), but hoping they will re-re the Top force Evo
Way back then I saw one of this in our local hobby and I let go off the oppurtunity, due to financial issue, having almost twin son

Re: New Tamiya releases
I wish they would just re-re parts only..... that way we could actualy run our orignal cars! For true collectors, bodys & chassis could be a differant color to help weed through the re-re & orignals, etc.....
There is no way anyone in there right mind is going to pay 300 to 500 on wepay for a superchamp body, or 1K + for an orignal mountaineer, bruzier, etc & then go out & run it. & if by some chance someone does, they are F****** nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cant even bring myself to run the brand new orignal superchamp body I got for $100.
Im old enough to remember the early days of Tamiya & at the time were the best RC Co out there in my opinion . Hear me out! they were inexpensive (compared to others) had a ton of differant modles to choose from, etc. You could get a nice RC kit for less than $100 & have a $#i+ load of fun with it.... (Yah I know the RC10 handled 100 times better than any modle Tamiya had at the time! ) But they were still cool, cheep, fun to build!
Just my 2 cents............................

+1, i've been spending too much on modern race gear this year. i don't need a re-re calling my name right now.Coelacanth wrote:Man, my first RC car was a Frog and I sure don't share that desire!longboardnj wrote:haha i was thinkin the same thing.. im a bit short on money and if they redid a frog chassis blackfoot i would need to buy 1 0r 2.. with this new stuff it will be easy to save $$$tamiyadan wrote:I'm pretty happy with the 'new' tamiya stuff because it is stuff I'm not interested in at all and will save me money.
i'm still kicking myself for buying a re-re frog. junk back then, junk now. then i was an idiot and spent a bunch of $$ on it to get it to handle.
it's much better now, but i still enjoy my hornet more.

Exactly, kaiser. I've said it before and I'll say it again, and this applies to any old item, not just RC cars: "Vintage crap is still crap."

the frog was my first Hobby grade RC too..... Thats why I have an orignal.Man, my first RC car was a Frog and I sure don't share that desire!
yah it cost me a bunch too (I tryed to get all the hop-ups I had way back when.) & Its just about as good as a frog can get, but still not competitave with newer RC's. I still love the car, because it brings back memories....i'm still kicking myself for buying a re-re frog. junk back then, junk now. then i was an idiot and spent a bunch of $$ on it to get it to handle.

Don't let people (in general) on here sway your decisions just because they say this or that is crap. Its all personal preference and opinions.

Re: New Tamiya releases
The Frog wasn't even competitive with any half-decent RC car of the 80's, let alone newer ones.airdreams1 wrote:yah it cost me a bunch too (I tryed to get all the hop-ups I had way back when.) & Its just about as good as a frog can get, but still not competitave with newer RC's.
