Kyosho pro-xrt tranny
Hello, I am new to this forum. Currently I am trying to fix my kyosho pro-xrt I noticed the main differential gear of the stealth styled transmission has overheated to the point where the inner plastic of the gear melted no longer allowing the truck to drive. For those familiar with this tranny it is the middle gear sandwhiched between two other differential gears. My question is this, is there a gear on another model rc that I can use to replace this damaged gear? Or is there another stealth transmission from a different model vehicle that I can mount to the chasis say some sort of rc10gt tranny?
Thanks,
Joe
Thanks,
Joe

Associated Stealth (2.25) is a 45t also, maybe one can be modded to fit with that metric Kyosho stuff. It'll depend on the size of that middle bearing I think...

Re: Kyosho pro-xrt tranny
kyosho usually uses metric .4 mod gears, not 48pitch, they fit close, but not exact, if it doesnt mesh perfect, it will strip

That transmission is pretty unique. I don't think there's anything out there that will work. BUT, these are my favorite types of challenges. Hopefully, you'll find something that works.

I have seen them on e-bay from time to time. Just keep looking. Also try searching the asian markets, as it would be more common there. -Jeff

Re: Kyosho pro-xrt tranny
Joe, I've got parts for that same transmission, it's called the Super Sprint Transmission, or SST for short. The kyosho part numbers all start with sst and then a 2 digit number. Check out Ebay and search for "kyosho sst" and you'll find what you're looking for, there's a whack of parts on there. I'd just send you the parts myself but I'm in Germany, it'll take a while for them to get there. If you strike out with Ebay, I'll be glad to help out though, just let me know.

With that information (which was great by the way!) I found what I think he needs. The only problem is whats the difference? The second one has an H at the end of the part number.

"H" denotes hard, basically saying that it is a harder plastic than stock. I just checked my stock of gears Joe, I've got what you need in case you don't find it state-side. Just let me know.

Hmm then I wonder what the diff gear in SST-33 bag fits. I guess it doesn't matter.isobarik wrote:SST-005 is the diff gears for the XRT

Those are the gears for the Rampage Pro Nitro stadium truck, it had a different internal ratio.Lowgear wrote:Ah, makes sense.adam lancia wrote:"H" denotes hard, basically saying that it is a harder plastic than stock.
