Just picked up my X Mass present from myself.

Got this from a good mate. It started life as a Ferrari on road racer. A Optima Mid Custom chassis that Kyosho slapped on a nice shell with the cool 5 spoke star chrome wheels. My mate converted it to the off road MID. He bought new shock towers, Shocks, New body set , Yokomo wheel adapters , Wing mount.

Im not fussed on the paint job/ Decals.

I also got a Novak Cyclone speedie with a Corally 12D hand wound motor.

This will be a runner in both forms.

Nice...but I wonder why he'd install Yokomo wheel hubs? I personally feel that a wheel shouldn't be held in place by only 2 non-central points of attachment--far too easy for something to go out-of-balance. IMHO not one of Yokomo's better design ideas.

I personaly have a soft spot for any type of Yokomo alloy wheel adapter. I think they hold the rim better than any hex type fitment.
The rim is driven by the square of the alloy hub and the rim even locates on a lip. The 2 screws simply hold the face of the rim to the hub.

I have to agree to this. I have never had a Yokomo wheel strip, yet I have had pin and hex wheels strip. Now JC do Yokomo 2.2 wheels I wish I could get adapters to fit Yokomo wheels to modern buggies.

Those Yokomo wheel hubs, wasn’t they made to other cars because that Yokomo was first with 2.2” wheels and tires at the WC in Australia -89? And if you wane go with 2.2” at that time you have to have those wheel hubs.

Have you ever had one of the eight screws holding the wheels onto the hubs strip? Takes twice as long or longer to swap wheels, too.

Spent the last couple days on this now.

I installed a new digital servo, Brushless speedie with a 8.5 sensored motor.

The gearing is around the right mark. The platinum shocks aren't that good and too stiff . The rear springs are modded Losi whites.

Saddel packs will go in shortly.

Marc the Yok adapters are great. I have over 20 sets for all my different runners and use all the same wheels. Schumacher being the only exception. Never had a problem. They also add some extra track F&R with them.
