I think, I've bought something great!

Post by michi »

Hi there,
I think, that I've bought something great. Probably it is a Works91. The car is still on its way to me. I thought I'd ask the yokomo specialists, whether it is really a Works91. I could possibly use the weekend to search after the correct body. I am very curious, if I found a worthy member of my little oldscool collection. What do you think? if it is to become a runner, what timefitting components could be the right ones? Any suggestion is welcome. :)

Servo is mounted in peculiar manner.

It's a works 91/92 (91 had 2mm pitch belts yours has 3mm belts). Team blue groove do a works 91/93 shell without scoop on the left hand side. Mr lexan does the yokomo yz10 pavidis shell which has the scoop. Both will fit. Mr lexans although not period correct for your yoke is excellent quality. I can't comment on Team blue groove.

Aaahh! I knew that it gets complicated. It is always so when you ask a question in this forum. However, this is the reason why I like it so much .
The note about Team blue groove is good. I recently ordered a body there for an Ultima. I was very happy with it.

I have ordered many bodies from TBG. Some are so-so and some are very good. His quality has improved a lot recently. Cant comment on his Yoke bodies. You would be taking a small risk with him. I have heard only great things about Lexys shells though. You would be guaranteed top quality.

I wonder why Jay insists on systematically refering to them as 'werks' instead of 'works' 8)

Which are the original rims? I guess the pink?
And then a possibly stupid question. Where do I get saddle pack batteries? I have a look around on eBay. Nothing! My God, I'm old!

Yep the rims are pink, you can get pink JC wheels on ebay (direct fit). You an also run modern saddle lipos and brushless.

Because they are not 91/93 "Works" bodies. :(

:?: you know what bugs me morethan the poor quality, more then the rereproductions of someone else's work? It that I know for a fact he is a active member here and won't stand up and say who he is. That's shady IMO
