Ill stick with the RC4WD Trailfinder 2 lol, I have an original Mountaineer that is for the most part original lol

I don't remember it selling anywhere near that. According to this site, they retailed for around $395--and probably less on sale.

well crap, between the avante and this, looks like i'll have to buy tamiya for the first time in 20 odd years

but yeah, the 540 is a bit of a shame, but if the battery compartment is the same size as the orig, you could drop in a a pair of 10,000mah packs and run for DAYYYYS

looking at the MSRP of 1295 and comparing the ratio of MSRP/towerhobbies.com retail price for the other high dollar tamiya kits, I expect this to street price out at about $800.
Ouch, that's double the cost of the rc4wd truck. What does a runner condition bruiser go for these days?

Decent used Bruisers start around $500. That's a decent truck that you can make nice with some work and a little more money. My Mountaineer was about $600 a year ago and it's nice and it's complete, but it's no show pony. $800 is a lot of money for a truck, but you'd be spending that much, possibly more to get a mint Bruiser on ebay.

I'm on the waiting list for the Trailfinder 2, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want one of these too. I mean, it's a Tamiya Bruiser. Yeah, the RC4wd is more scale, looks a little better and costs half the price, but this is a Tamiya Bruiser. No matter. I can barely afford the RC4wd truck right now, so a Bruiser is not in my near future. But, I might have to find a way to make it happen in the next year.

Hmm, now with a bunch of new Bruiser owners in the world, my MThompson wheels should be worth a fortune! Maybe I'll sell them to help fund a new Bruiser for myself. Naaa.

Old school Bruiser is definitely cooler looking under the hood in my opinion, but this thing is still awesome.

Also, I think the 540 motor mount is a smart idea. There are way more options for powerful motors with a 540 mount than just sticking with the old 750 dinosaur. Lack of power won't be an issue at all.

Wow! That seems really cheap. Do a completed listings search on ebay USA for Bruisers, totally different market I guess.
