Re: A Vintage race in the West...
I like rules and I like to follow rules. I don't like to change rules mid stream either. Rules are rules and nothing in them can change! Especially, once a race has started. I don't know about getting sanctioning as per say like ROAR?? But if everyone is comfortable about the rules before the race starts, then All should be well. I would like to say, that these rules would be scrutinized thoroughly well before they are published just to make sure that grey areas can be addressed as clearly as possible. Many times the way one person views a rule is not the same as another and that sometimes leads to confusion (AKA ~ Anger)
I would likely set up some sort of committee of 3 to 5 people to set up those particulars.

Re: A Vintage race in the West...
Pegasus Hobbies in Montclair rents its track for "parties." $250 buys 2 hours with ten Rustlers, a techie to charge batteries and pizza. Maybe a deal could be made for the whole day minus the Rustlers. 50 pre registered at $15 each would be $750 right there. Just a thought.

Not at all, good to know and hopefully we can put something together on the Left Coast - the birth place of the RC10Without sounding like I'm tooting my own horn, I just want to put out some credentials so that some of you know that if I want to put together a race like this, I want to make sure it is the best it can be.

That would be the goal. Every year I want to go out for VoNats. But that time of year is just hard for me.

I've never raced off road. My gold tub was always set up for asphalt. But if the location is Hot Rod's I will turn marshall all day.

C'mon arf! No time like a vintage race to jump in. It may open up a whole new world for you. Not to mention you couldn't pick a better group to get started with.arf wrote:I've never raced off road.
