Had a couple builds that are in progress, but it always seems that they turn out too nice to run, and can't seem to find interest in running an old junker. So what better way to break in some NIP parts along with a few other nice ones scattered in the mix. Hopefully this one will be built to survive a bit of punishment once or twice per month as I find time to race it and learn the ropes again. Was going to run a set of RPM worlds arms, but I think Jakes arms are nicer as well as a tad longer. Easily able to run B4 cvds. Going to use a Trinity 10.5 and an all metal geared RPM 2.65 trans with a B4 slipper. Thought of using V2 shocks, but I think the golds will be ok for my current skill level . Real anxious to get this one done and put in some laps!
Bob, are you a closet IU fan living in KY?? Not to worry, there are plenty of UK fans here to even things out. You may call that a simple "runner", but it's still going to look nicer than anything I own. Can't wait to see it done.

I do need a psych evaluation, but gotta run this one. If I can make it to the Vonats this year, I'll use this one. Hopefully the JConcepts sheets will help keep the underside in good condition.
Thumbs, come to think of it, that IU cup is as vintage as the RC10. I have a bunch of those style cups from the concessions in Bloomington when we used to attend most of the home games in the 80's. Damn I'm getting old! Once a Hoosier, always one I suppose and yes I miss Bob Knight.
With all the respect in the world given the look of that killer workspace, do you have an explanation for the two varieties of paper towels? When you open that many packages, there shouldn't be too much grime involved. But when it comes time to bleed the shocks, which color towel will it be?

I want to go have a look for Gold I.
Lol! What Jws said. My OCD took over the garage renovation I did this past fall/winter. The workbench I've had for about ten years also got a makeover. I always keep the cheapo paper towels for cleaning windows, and the other shop type towels for the rest of my messes. I stock up on them from Costco. Don't let the OCD scare you...
Well i finally found a gold pan buggy to make a runner it a pretty clean a stamp car... 6 gear trans seems ok all the suspension parts have a redish maroon tint to em... Is there any way to make em white? I have heard peroxide? Will the 6 gear hold...

Here's what I'm talking about by cutting the battery cup for hard case Lipos:
here is the start of my runner. I have done some work to it but I still have a few more parts to swtich around on it.
I have a set of composite craft shock towers and battery strap. I have some aluminum turnbuckles and RPM ball cups to replace...

I usually run my vintage runners with care. Eau, I spent quite a bit for that wing only to be dissapointed with the sides being bent all up. That's what makes it perfect for a runner.
The same thing happened to me recently too! I have been...
I always wanted one, but by the time I could afford one, I couldn't. Picked this up in a box of RC stuff off Craigslist. There's a re release Tamiya Frog and an Axial Scorpion included, along with bags and boxes of parts to go through still. This is...

That's a very nice find, congratulations!
If it were mine, I'd completely rebuild it, install bearings (if not already installed), rehydrate the nylon, install a good chassis protector and run it - carefully.
I have been looking for one of these for years. This was the first non silver-can motor I bought BITD. I still have the remnants of my original can and endbell. I ran this so much that the comm wore out. This one came up on Ebay a couple weeks ago...

Finally getting around to putting together the CE runner I've been hoarding parts for. Gonna stick with the original suspension setup and use B3 wheels. A lot of new parts, and nice used parts mix. Found some period correct Ti turnbuckles, Lunsford...
Picked up this RC10 on Ebay recently. I had an RPM RC10 a while back and I sold it like a fool. This one is better though because it has the wiley and elusive RPM 2.65 trans. So, I think a decked out RPM runner is in order. Might even put the tall...

thats the same thing i wondered.........i'm curious to see what it looks like
I always favor the RPM worlds builds for some reason, and also wanted to put together a gold car with white parts. Figured I'd make an attempt at killing two cars with one build. Funny how I despised the white parts back in the day and made...

That is one really nice build. I like how it came out.
