Moving across country to the Calgary/area
A new chapter of my live is starting. I'm packing up and moving across the country to Calgary, Alberta. My hobby room has been packed away for a couple of weeks now and I'm already wanting to dig out some of my things continue running them. I only have one thing I want to do in Nova Scotia before we move, which is rock crawling with my new Wraith at Peggy's Cove. I figured it would be cool to crawl at a world renowned place that is so close by. I've already crawled along the Bay of Fundy in NS, it's on the list to be the 8th "Wonder of the World". That was amazing, but it's just about an hour away near where I grew up.
The house sold yesterday, but is dependent on the house inspection and a radon test. I'm not too worried about either, although radon is pretty high throughout Nova Scotia. If the deal goes through we will be homeless by August 22nd, so I guess we better get house shopping. We are going to be in the Calgary area next week. Rod and the others in the Calgary area better get some beer together, I'll be there before ya know it.

Re: Moving across country to the Calgary/area
Congratulations! Hope you like AB. At least your house sold. Housing is coming back around here, but for a while I knew of several people supporting 2 house payments for up to 2 years. Had to be hell for them. Not to mention having to take care of 2 yards!
We've been looking lazily for a while. I dread moving so much that I think I've found issues with some of the houses we've looked at that weren't really there.
It'll be really exciting for you though. Make sure to get one with a nice large dedicated hobby room. That's a MUST for me if we move. Hope all goes smoothly for you.

Good call. I find I get a better shot when mine's not looking. One of these days I'm gonna pull the trigger.slotcarrod wrote:shooting guns when your wifes not looking!

Re: Moving across country to the Calgary/area
Thumb, I don't know what I would do if our house was on the market for a long time...I would have to shot my wife
Our house was on the market 35 days, which was pretty manageable.
Rod, I'm looking forward to all that stuff too, along with shooting guns.....with the wifey
She developed an interest in owning a hand gun, maybe I should be the one who should be scared. She wants to learn how to shoot them and what not. I think I want to learn how to be a ninja

Re: Moving across country to the Calgary/area
I think she wants to get into the investigator typeish kinda of thing when we move out, maybe she's watching too much Criminal Minds
She wants to take some forensics science courses at Mount Royal. If she goes into this kinda field she will possibly have to carry a firearm, or at the very least be around people who have them. Her current clients likely carry weapons, but not where she can see them.
