R/C Country Swap Meet.
I woke up at 4am to drive 1.5 hours north to Sacramento Ca from r a once a year swap meet in the parking lot of a hobby shop. I've found some sweet deals over the years.
This year, there wasn't that much vintage but I wasn't disappointed. I picked up an RTR Proboats brushless black jack 29".
I also picked up a new in the box complete Tamiya Tamtech Testarossa kit.

Nice find on the Tamtech and that BJ will be a lot of fun as well! I have the 9" version and it flies on 2s! The Prop looks stock. If you are looking to upgrade, a friend of mine Chris from NY specializes in custom props (balancing and sharpening). If you are interested, let me know.

That's really cool.
Closest thing we have to that out here is a ski swap every winter. Boooor-ing.

Didn't see many cars I would be interested in but some of those planes would come home with me if the price was right.

I didn't get nearly enough photos. There were all sorts of stuff out there. Some of it, especially the airplane stuff was dirt cheap. There was some nice gold pan rc10s I didn't need. I passed up a vintage bruiser chassis at $200 only to find another buyer got it for $140.

Re: R/C Country Swap Meet.
I just sold my Hilux for $250 on Craigslist. The ad wasn't up 24 hours before it was gone. Clods went the next day to the same buyer. Now, if only someone would take this damn Tmaxx off my hands . . .shodog wrote:I didn't get nearly enough photos. There were all sorts of stuff out there. Re: R/C Country Swap Meet.
None of the local hobby shops in my area do this. A bicycle shop does and I've picked up some killer deals. Craigslist and eBay have really killed off the swap meets. I would only sell at a swap meet if I was trying to get rid of bigger stuff that's not easily ship able. With anything that's ship able I know I can get more on eBay or the forums for it.Incredible_Serious wrote:scr8p wrote:I wish they did that around here.
What gets me is People think they can get eBay prices for their stuff. I asked a seller about a new built Taisan Porsche with a black painted body and untouched wing and decal. He wanted $250 for it and proceeded to show me a screen shot of some completed auction. He starts to give me the hard sell about bad ass and rare the chassis is. I told him that we weren't at eBay and Tamiya rereleased the car and that Evilbay and PayPal suck 15-17% off the top. I offered him $125 just to raise his blood pressure. Needless to say I didn't get it.

Re: R/C Country Swap Meet.
My son and I stopped by R/C Country on our way back from AxialFest last year. It has to be one of the better-stocked hobby shops I've seen in a long, long time, especially for aircraft and crawlers/scalers. It's good to see they're keeping the swap meet concept alive as well.
