Yokomo 870C Cliff Lett Replica WC 89

Post by prp »

Hi, guys,

I present you a new replica car, I'm at the beginning:

Handmade parts: chassis carbon, upper deck carbon, front monoshock mount
front and rear shock tower.

RCPS parts are on: turnbuckle, servo saver brace.

I must place the receiver with the small battery, the novak esc and the Reedy motor.

Now I search the cotation of the blue rear arm from the World.and the material used any idea ?

For this one, I search again a PS 87 Fet KO servo, and the 330S front tires, and the 8185 white RC10L body mount.

For the green shock (gold anodized in green) I don't know, maybe some one have try ?

Great start for what is going to be a superb build for sure!

As for your green anodising of your shock it might be worth giving these guys a try;

http://www.metaltreatments.co.uk/ - I've not had any personal experience of them but I know of a few people who have & had good service from them - ironically turning green Ansmann to red!

Really nice start! I have always thought that front monoshock mounts were fiberglass but obviously that can not even be possible, since there needs to be so much offset from front arms.

What are those front wheel adapetrs?

Is the rear end going to be similar than there was in Masami's car with e.g. RC10 rear hubs?

I'm guessing the blue material is nylon (as it looks anyway) and the green is PFE Teflon coating- very ambitious project! I've been collecting parts for Cliff's Euro champs 870 with his woven chassis and top deck for a while now.....but yours looks much harder to source than mine!

Nice, I don't ever recall seeing this car... do you have any pictures/scans of it?

Cheers!

Hi ,

The front hub are machined.
The carbon chassis have the 4 cells more in the center of the car and a bit forward.
For the rear arm I need sheet of PA6 blue Nylon Nylatron, and use with the RC10 rear hubs.

Below the pic from the world:

is this the same year masami's car ran the rc10 rear hubs and special nylon rear arms? I would bet Cliff used the same setup, just dyed the arms blue.

??? The US guy used the blue rear arms, and are shorter than the Masami white arm,
Masami have rear wheel with out offset, and Cliff used with offset.

Not sure but I think you have 2 colors and 2 sizes differents for the rear arms.

Just WOW. Really nice replica with a lot of hard work with all those self made parts. Nice detail that US guys used offset rear wheels with shorter arms. I didn't realize that before. Just change batteries to 1700SCEs.
