The burns body fits perfectly over the turbo burns shock towers. If you're using the wing, then 2 slots have to be cut towards the rear of the car.

One other thing to consider for power purposes is to run a 4 pole 550 can brushless motor.

I converted a Caster Racing 1/8th scale E-buggy into a 1/10th scale 4WD short course. I run the hobby wing 120 amp esc with a tenshock 4000KV 401 motor on 2S lipo.

It's still surprisingly fast and can get you in trouble.

The burns is probably very similar in size and weight as the Losi 810 ebuggy which the SCTE 4WD short course is based on. Look into power plant options for the SCTE.

Don't worry guys, I am not looking to melt the cars transmission. I'm sure there a throttle profiles I can adjust to reduse the harshness of the 2200kv power plant.

Either that or......I'll run a 2 cell pack- LOL!

Cool project, hey I got a front bumper but it's for the inferno like the one on my twin 454 it can be made to fit. It's kind of beat up it's yours if you want it just pay for shipping.

I was going to recommend you to upgrade you diff's to hardened steel, BSW-1,2 check your Turbo burns you never know.

This is the top of the line comes stock with BSW-1,2.

The Turbo Burns arrived today. Sure, it will need a clean up but I am certain this car has not seen much use. Lots of surface rust and a little corrosion but after a good clean I am excited to see how this car will turn out.

Have the Hobby Wing esc and motor in hand and now waiting on an electric conversion set for the Inferno. May have to drill a few holes but no biggy.

Also got some NEW original Burns tyres coming and a couple of bodysets from marwan too.

I'm excited!

My only experience with Lipo's are that of the 2 cell variety. Obviously things could be a little tight inside the car so I had 2x 'shorty' packs in mind when combined will make 4 cells. However, with some recommendations here that this much power may be too much for these cars should I be considering 2 or 3 cell lipo's? Either way mods are goimg to need to be made so if you have some advice I'd very much appreciate your input.

I think you can find 3 cell packs with the same footprint as the standard size 2 cell pack: just thicker. So I'd try to stick with the 2 cell packs you have and upgrade to 3 cells after getting the hang of these big boys

I've started to dismantle the Turbo Burns but also assess the electrics layout too. I am waiting on some bodies from Marwan and this will ultimately dictate what will fit where without bulging on the shell or needing to trim it anywhere.

I'm really looking forward to fitting these shells without the worry of trimming them out to suit the engine or tank access.

I hope for you the venting areas are well doneon the repros: I've seen some with an ugly bulge where you have to cut them for an engine or exhaust.

The 'BURNS' arrived today and the car is used but has been completely rebuilt after a thorough clean by the previous owner. The engine looks MINTY new. It seems such a waste to remove it from this car and it has me wondering wether I should keep it in there or not.

There are definately more than a few differences between this model and the Turbo version. Still, I really like the original for some reason. Reminds me of the Optima series in some ways.
