Whats a good replacement for RC10 Graphite CVD Dogbones??
With you guys help I have been rebuilding a few RC10's. I have a graphite That I have been working on and I have a few questions. Take a look at the pictures below. As always any help is appreciated.
My first question is Are they totally shot?
Secondly If they are can they be rebuilt?
Third and most likely what is the best replacement that is readily available
Thanks, Stinger.

As long as they are straight you should be fine.

they will "work" (read: the wheel will turn when the diff outdrives turn)... but they are terribly worn out and the binding will cause some interesting sneaky handling traits. No they cannot be rebuilt.

you can find lots of replacement universals on ebay, in better condition that what you have. Used like the pair you have, or you can move to a CVD type. MIP still sells the 1/4" axle CVD version for around $25.00.

if aren't building a 100% correct car and plan to run it, I'd go with the CVD's. They are rebuildable to a point.(once the holes are ovaled out, they also get worn out, but you can replace the guts and those parts tend to wear faster then the axle and bone)

Thinking about the upgrades on the 10Ts. What size cvd for the stadium truck? Keep in mind I have the original trucks.

Re: Whats a good replacement for RC10 Graphite CVD Dogbones?
you would defiantly need bearings, shims and rear wheels. The front wheel bearings are the proper ones to convert to a 3/16 axle so you could test them first. you would also need new rear wheels to run those as the 1/4 will not fit the 3/16 axle. The shims are used in the same way as your current ones, but 3/16 in diameter. I cant say for sure that the T4 are the right length axle, but you would need more than just the joints to use them. Probably not worth it even if the axles are free...unless you get the other parts cheap enough
