What is your opinion of the Pro-X ?
The Pro-X was my first kit built car and although I had some problems with it I still loved that car. What are your opinions of this car, and why?
Re: What is your opinion of the Pro-X ?
I thougt it was an interesting attempt at Kyoshos 1st 3 gear racing gear box that kept melting down when adjusted to slip are it was locked up.I almost bought one but then came the Triumph , Ultima type-r. The Pro-x was expensive and that gear box problem just gave everybody I new, A bad taste in our mouths. But now Id like to own one I think its the only offroad kyosho race car I havent owned . I am totally wrong the gear box has lots of gears like the losi

Re: What is your opinion of the Pro-X ?
I never had a problem with the gearbox, but I must say I kept stripping out the motor plate where the gearbox attatched. I don't know that I would blame Kyosho for that because I had a habit of tightening things a little too much back then.
I gave away my pro x but I still have the box. It is defietly on my list of cars from my past that i would like to own again.

Wasn't the pro-x a 5 gear, laid out like a Losi 5 gear? I remember that gear set very well! I remember it as a basic 3 gear, but don't quote me. It was a loooong time ago.

Pro-X transmission is a lot like Losi's LRM... it's a 6G design.

LRM and ProX:gomachv wrote:You mean 5Lonestar wrote:Pro-X transmission is a lot like Losi's LRM... it's a 6G design.
Paulwe don't count external gears in a losi or associated trans. I guess that would make the ultimas and optimas a 2 gear. Well that's weird.
1 Top gear
3 gears on the diff (1 center + 2 diff outdrives)
2 output gears
makes 6 in my books...

You know, this is kind of weird. I could swear that I've always heard that referred to as a five gear but I've never really done the math lol. I feel like a tool

Counting the physical number of gears, and considering only the gears that factor into the gear ratio could be two separate things.

I think I will just waive the white flag, I have no idea what I was thinking.
I have however been trying to figure out a way to justify my poor math. I'm currently leaning towards our educational system followed closely by "my parents didn't love me" lmfao

Re: What is your opinion of the Pro-X ?
Wow I had never heard of the Pro-X until this thread. It must have come out sometime after I got out of rc but didn't stick around long enough for me to notice. That gearbox is definitely a JRX ripoff design but then again if you look at car evolution it's all about copying the first person to try something different. It's actually a pretty good looking car.
