Re: Willy's Monster Vette
Painted, decaled, waitin on Willy. Still more work to do like dremmel of useless plastic on chassis, replace cheap bearings I had put in with nicer, rubber shielded ones, and add shims to the axles on the inside of the gearbox to get rid of the slop.

Re: Willy's Monster Vette
I had one of those monstrosities as a kid, built it new from kit and... rather disliked it with a strong emphasis. AND That car was the first thing that went through my mind when I read the topic! I do think the OP's one is much cooler then that brittle Kyosho monstrosityMelvinsArmy wrote:Awesome project. I like that you're not going brushless and sticking with an old Monster Horsepower motor!
I've been considering doing a Corvette monster myself.
Anybody remember Kyosho's monster vette?

Make sure he doesn't kink any of the straps in the buckles
I miss brushed motors in that hazy, everything seemed better when I was a kid, kind of way.

Re: Willy's Monster Vette
Still need a shifter for Willy. Looking for a small skull, 8 ball, or dice. Even though you won't be able to really see it, that's what I want to do. Waiting on Tamiya pearl clear to finish off the helmet and then I'm on to electronics.
Front view. Might ditch the GoodYear logo. Overall I like the look of this. Should be a fun runner and less prone to flip with its lower center of gravity.

Re: Willy's Monster Vette
very cool, i love the way the body looks on the lunch box and willy looks like he was meant to be there..
now to find a use for the lunch box body... from memory they fit nearly perfect on a M05 chassis..
